Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX - Alex Kidd in Miracle World remake is finally here! (PC,Xbox One,Switch,PS4)

In 1987 Sega released the great side-scrolling platform game ' Alex Kidd ' for the Sega Master System console. Although it was first released in Japan in 1986 but internationally in 1987, it was one of the most well known games as it was also built into most Master System II's. As such it came as no surprise to us, that when we mentioned it way back in 2018 way before IGN and other sites that this was game was being remade by Merge Games and Jankenteam, it set our twitter feed alight with excited retro gaming retweets across the globe.

Circuit Superstars - A rather cool top-down racing game gets a demo, Early Access 2021

If you're looking for something slightly different this week, other than all the platformers and puzzlers we've featured so much of on IRN, then look no further than the upcoming game 'Circuit Superstars'; a top down racing game with a current demo, that's due for release next year on Steam, which pits you against other racers as a dynamic driving system that’s simple to learn, yet deep and rewarding.. As the developer Original Fire Games says "mastering new tracks, battling wheel-to-wheel for the chequered flag, managing wear and tear, and building your pit strategy".

Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan - Upcoming retrotastic release by Collectorvision Games gets a sneak peek


During the last couple of months we've been keeping you up to date with Collectorvision Games upcoming retro inspired platformer called Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan, which is going to be coming to PC, Xbox One and Switch this fall, with plans to port to the PS4 later this year. Well if you've been following this Montezuma's Revenge inspired title of epic proportions, you'll be pleased to know the company have released a sneak peak footage of the game running on the Nintendo Switch.
