Barbarian+ - Enhanced upcoming Amiga classic just keeps on improving!
As many of you know by now if you've been following our write ups, the fantastic sword slicing, head chopping, and head kicking Barbarian(Death Sword) which was first released in 1989 for a multitude of retro systems, is coming to the Amiga as an enhanced version with lots of cool stuff that could make it a real eye opener in the retro scene. Well fast forward to this week and not only have they released more videos, but there's further gaming info to whet your appetite!
Barbarian+ - Is an enhanced version of a classic coming to the Amiga?
Barbarian(Death Sword), was first released in 1989 for the C64 and later ported to other systems such as the Acorn, Amiga, Amstrad, Atari, Apple II, BBC Micro, MS-DOS and even the ZX Spectrum. It was a cool game indeed that featured a one to two player mode as a Barbarian faced each other off in deadly combat, with even a deadly ability to be able to slice at each other to the death, which usually ended up with a head being chopped clean off and kicked to one side. It is was a game that has lived on through a generation and after a number of fan ports that have appeared in the past, it looks as if the Amiga is going to get its very own enhanced version called ' Barbarian+ '.

It's a late hour 1.44am in fact, but that doesn't matter in terms of news like this as we've just been informed that the upcoming enhancement of Barbarian that is being worked on by Ten Shu, Colin Vella and Simone Bernacchia as Barbarian+ for the Commodore Amiga. Has just been teased again but this time with a new video showing not just head slicing game play, but more backgrounds and inclusive sound effects!
Barbarian+ - Female warrior added to the upcoming enhanced version of a classic
It's boiling here in the uk and writing under no Aircon is a struggle, but at least we've got some good news to share as we've just been informed that the upcoming enhancement of Barbarian that is being worked on by Ten Shu, Colin Vella and Simone Bernacchia as Barbarian+ for the Commodore Amiga. Has just been teased again but this time with a new video showing a female warrior added to the game. For those that missed any previous announcements they are also working on a Warrior type, skin and kit colour selection, gore option menu.

Last month we were hinting on Indie Retro News that the classic game of Barbarian(Death Sword) which was first released in 1989 for a multitude of retro systems was coming to the Amiga as an enhanced version with an overhaul to the colours and possibly more. Well after already finding out that this was completely true, we are here to share even more video updates for this fabulous work in progress Amiga enhancement as ' Barbarian+ '.
Barbarian+ - A feature update for this upcoming Amiga game overhaul
Barbarian is a one-on-one fighter game whereby you have to take down your opponent using a variety of moves, of which the majority involve your sword. You can spin it around and wait for someone to walk into it, an over-the-head chop is also available along with a side swipe as many of the preferred ways to kill in this late 1980's game. But even though it is rated as a great game, there's a team of people out there who have decided to give it a much needed overhaul based on the Amiga version not providing any improvements over the C64 version, except sound and a higher screen resolution (Colin's post)
Barbarian+ - WIP enhanced version of a classic head chopping game!
Throughout this year we've been keeping you up to date with the work in progress enhancement of Barbarian, which is going to be called Barbarian+ and worked on by Ten Shu, Colin Vella and Simone Bernacchia for the Commodore Amiga. Well you'll be pleased to know this fabulous overhaul is going to be finished soon and thanks to James Brown who has uploaded a new video, we can see the first proper look of this upcoming release!
Super Metal Hero - A new Amiga game coming from Double Sided Games
This month has been fantastic for Amiga news, especially with games being mentioned on IRN such as Boss Machine, Inviyya, Tiny Little Slug, Tapper and even Redpill Puzzle. But it looks as if the greatness hasn't ended there, as thanks to another great heads up, we've been told Double Sided Games will be publishing a more polished version of Super Metal Hero for the Amiga. A game they've said will be getting a major change in the team, in gameplay and technology.

Throughout the last few months we've been keeping you informed as much as possible regarding the work in progress enhancement of Barbarian that is being worked on by Ten Shu, Colin Vella and Simone Bernacchia. Well after a number of write ups in regards to this fantastic one to two player game with a barbarian facing off with each other waiting to chop a head off or two. Colin has since announced not only new screenshots but a new decapitation video from their upcoming enhancement 'Barbarian+'.
