Stonehearth - A sandbox strategy game with town building, crafting, and epic battles! (kickstarter)

Stonehearth can only be described as a Minecraft/Lego mix with a hint of Anno! This fantastic looking game is being developed by Radiant Entertainment, and currently going through a Kickstarter, which is hitting it's success goal at a rather rapid rate. Stonehearth is a game about exploration and survival in an epic fantasy setting. What starts off as a small settlement must be developed into a large civilization, with the ability to defend themselves against hostile enemies. But not just that, you’ll need to establish a food supply, build a shelter, defend your people, and find a way to grow and expand, facing challenges at every step

Banished - City Building (Video Update)

Although we did a large feature on this game before, the developers Shining Rock Software have released a gameplay video update of this fantastic looking village/city builder Banished!  Follow in the foot steps of a group of exiled travelers who decide to restart their lives in a new land. With a game play style of Anno, grow your town into a successful culture, keep the population alive by agriculture, hunting, gathering with trade and fishing. Although it's still in development, Banished looks like it could be a worthy city building strategy game.

Epic Pirates Story - Free Building/Arcade/Puzzle Simulator! (Android)

I love the sound of free, who doesn't? But most of the time free Android games are not that great to be honest, but here comes Epic Pirates Story, which is a pretty good free game. Developed by Epic Devs LLC, you play as a character who is out for revenge against Duke A.Blizzardo, an evil pirate King who took your father away. It is your time to become a great leader and gather your pirates to take the kingship away from A.Blizzardo. The only way to do this is by developing your pirate island into something great and this is where the fun begins!

Widelands - Settlers Based Open Source RTS

I'm sure many of our readers enjoyed Settlers, but have you ever heard of Widelands? This is an open source, real-time strategy game, with many features that made Settlers great. You are the regent of a small clan and start out with nothing but the headquarters, from then on you must develop a growing settlement with all buildings needed to keep the resources flowing. The Settlers feel is all here, pathways between buildings, forestry and wood cutting and much more! You'll even come across other clans which you may need to fight, so train your soldiers well.

Banished - City Building

Finally a good looking city builder that would suit any Anno gamer. This is Banished by developers Shining Rock Software. Follow in the foot steps of a group of exiled travelers who decide to restart their lives in a new land. With only a cart and supplies from the homeland, it's time to begin a new life, and a new civilization.  Grow your town into a successful culture, keep the population alive by agriculture, hunting, gathering, trade and fishing, failure to achieve this and everyone suffers.

Towns - city building/management rpg

In Towns you manage your own little village on top of a dungeon.  However instead of managing one single hero, you develop the town and help the people in it, oh and kill the odd dungeon creature!

I, Mayor - Town Simulator

A small Indie game in the like of SimCity and other such Town/City building simulators has been released called I, Mayor. Project GODUS - A reinvention of Populous ( Strategy/god sim ) + Kickstarter

In the last month or so we've had some incredible games come up on Kickstarter, however it just got better as a game called Project GODUS from 22cans and Peter Molyneux has been announced. You might ask why should some of us care?, well it looks to be a Reinvention of Populous for today's systems!. Populous was a computer game developed by Bullfrog in 1989 and is regarded by many as the first PC God game also winning a lot of awards in 1991.
