But that wipe comes with a glorious patch that fixes not just the leveling of the game but adds brand new weapons, new items and much more. So even though there is a high chance your old character and universe is gone, this game is so addictive it doesn't really matter. Loading up Steam will apply the patch!

Update Info : Many gamers around the world have been constantly smacking that F5 button as today the beta is due to be released. A beta of a game that has a big brother to look up to and that was Terraria, a game that was so popular it sold many many copies, it was worldly popular. Think of it as Minecraft in a 2D way, the ability to do what you wanted and create what you want, either on your own or with your friends. But enough about that, when is it due? Beta keys will be released at 10 am PST, which means Europeans have to wait until 6-8pm. But while we wait, check out the latest beta trailer!

Stop Motion - GuizDP: Donkey Kong

This is seriously impressive and time consuming, of which most people like myself would probably struggle with. This video by guizdp is well worth seeing as it's a stop motion video of Donkey Kong, as if the game was being played. It's pretty incredible and the creator has my upmost respect.

Reus - Control mighy giants for the development of humanity

Due for release tomorrow (16th May) is Reus, which is a 2D god game being developed by Abbey Games, a Dutch independent game studio in the style of Black of White. Reus has a lovely artistic style and you control natures giants to balance human progression. You can create mountains and oceans, forests and more. Enrich your planet with plants, minerals and animal life. But can you guide humanity to utopia, or will human greed ultimately destroy civilization?

Rawbots - A Multiplayer Sandbox game with kick ass Robots! +Kickstarter

If you were ever a fan of RobotWars or just remember the TV show, then this game will give you a damn good robot creation treat. Rawbots is a robot crafting sandbox game where you can play with kick ass robots, designed, built and programmed by you. The developer Alex Rozgo of Team Rawbots, is pushing this game into the next level with more than just a Robot Creation game, as they state via the Kickstarter. The Rawbots universe has a unique set of matter, energy and physics laws. These laws are engineered to serve fun emergent gameplay that is different every time you play. Everything you would expect from a sandbox game and more. We are taking this to the next level. Gameplay that truly emerges beyond imagination and defined contextually by the type of robots you build. 

Terraria - 2D Action/Adventure/Rpg Sandbox Creation is getting a BIG update!

Some great news today as Terraria, the 2D Action, Adventure, Rpg Sandbox Creation game is getting a big update. Developed by Re-Logic, this was one great game and I personally preferred it over Minecraft. You did pretty much everything to your hearts content in Terraria, in a world that was different every time. Chop down trees, build buildings, fight strange creatures, make new items, mine for new resources and much much more. I had many many hours of enjoyment with friends online trying to build strange yet wonderful buildings, such as my own arena! But this update is going to once again thrust the game back into the headlines. You'll come across new weapons such as the Beam sword and naturistic events like clouds and waterfalls. There's even more to come, so what can you spot?

Theme Park Studio: Back again, but with a kickstarter

Although we have done an article on Indie Retro News before regarding Pantera Entertainment's Theme Park Studio, this time they are going to take it that little bit further, but with a kickstarter!  As they say, with this kickstarter, they are listening to us :Fans and friends! We have listened to your feedback, implemented your requests, and spent countless amount of hours as well as a small fortune developing Theme Park Studio to be the game that players will love for many years to come! But what is Theme Park Studio? Theme Park Studio is a suite of tools that allow players to design, build, and experience stunning amusement parks. So not a Theme Park or Rollercoaster Tycoon as such, but could it be just as good?

The next "ECCO the Dolphin" adventure game

The designers behind the classic underwater adventure game, Ecco the Dolphin are onto a brand new project via kickstarter funding.  Once again, you'll be under the ocean, with stunning graphics, and with a mysterious and terrifying setting. This is not set in the present either, beyond into the future, millions of years in fact after Humans extinction, in what they class as, the Gaea theory. This brand new game will be a massive adventure and not centered around a Dolphin.  Action puzzle solving, exploration, quests and the collection and spawning of life forms will all have a feature.

Planet Explorers - explore, gather..... (Kickstarter Update)

A new update for Planet Explorers, as it's now up with a Kickstarter. This is a game which is still in development and continues to impress. This is Planet Explorers from Pathea Games, whereby you must explore, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, conquer the land. Featuring massive enemies, large areas to explore and the best in creation, I'm certainly looking forward to this. Check out our previous feature on this game for far more info!

Under The Ocean - Sandbox style creation game

For all the fans of Sandbox style creation games, those that have a style of Terraria & minecraft, here's a game you might like to take a look at and play. It's called Under the Ocean, which is a sequel to the brilliant Under the Garden game.
