I used to love playing racing games such as Outrun, Lotus or even XJ220 on the Amiga. It was a time that gave me the feeling of intense speed and near misses without driving a real car and ending up in the local clink. Thankfully if you too like games like that, or even ones with a more science fiction element to them, then make sure to keep an eye on Hyper Runner; An upcoming sci-fi racer for the Commodore Amiga by Raster Wizards that looks even better in this latest footage!
G-ZERO - F-Zero inspired SNES WIP game looks impressive on the Genesis/Sega Mega Drive
A bit of a late heads up for this one, as a good friend of ours, has recently informed us, that Gasega68k has released an early work in progress version of 'G-ZERO' for the Sega Mega Drive. A game that is inspired by the SNES title of 'F-Zero'. The first game in the series originally released for the Super NES, as the first game for the platform to use a technique by Nintendo called "Mode 7 Scrolling". To coincide with this news, we've got some footage and a very brief description about this WIP tease below.
Space Racing - This could be F-Zero on the ZX Spectrum 128k and it looks super awesome!
We've mentioned a lot of games entered into the ZX-DEV Media and Demakes competition from The Last Escape to Battle City ZX. But now as a complete surprise to us and one I think that will be a highlight for this December, is Voxel Tower's rather impressive looking game of 'Space Racing'; a demake of F-Zero from the SNES as the first racing game to use a fake 7-mode technique on a real 128kb zx spectrum (no specialized chips, just a 8-bits z80 processor).
Super Pilot - F-Zero and Wipeout styled racer gets greenlit and an early demo
If you loved F-Zero or even Wipeout then this might be the game for you! 'Super Pilot' by dopagames is a fast paced futuristic racing game, where you can race against upto 50 opponents at break neck speeds and perhaps beating the opposition to the finishing line. Furthermore the game also features the ability to design and share your own tracks by adding loops, twists, making it vertical, upside-down, or whatever you'd like, using the developers powerful and easy-to-use track editor.
