CPCRetroDev 2018 - Amstrad CPC Game Creation Contest, now with 41 games to play!

Throughout this year we have been featuring the CPCRetroDev 2018 competition; a competition whereby Amstrad developers from around the world could come together to show off their games to hopefully win the top spot and blow us away with their talent. Well as the competition had finished and we told you who the winners were such as Operation Alexandra, Jarlac and Legend of Steel, we are now shouting out from the roof tops that all 41 games entered are now available for download!

This year's CPCRetroDev 2018 has been mouth watering for the Amstrad CPC as throughout the competition we have seen many fantastic entries announced such as Jarlac, Legend of Steel, Operation Alexandra, The Adventure of Timothy Gunn, OPQA vs QAOP, Crimson Knight Adventures and many many more making a grand total of 41 enteries. Well as the competition is over, we finally have a winner and out of all of them the top spot was taken by..... Operation Alexandra!

The Amstrad has gone crazy this month as there have been so many games mentioned for the CPCRetroDEV 2018 competition, that the record has been broken for submissions, with a massive number of 41 games entered! Which beats the previous 29 by a big margin. In fact we have already mentioned some of the hopeful winners already as Legend of Steel,  The Adventures of Timothy Gunn and even Operation Alexandra that hope to be crowned overall winner.

CNGSoft are certainly no slouch when it comes to great Amstrad games, games such as The World Of Hire Hare, Duck Out, FROGALOT, Justin and BB4CPC to name but a handful. But now it looks as if CNGSoft are about to go all out once again, as they have announced through the CPCRetroDEV competition ' The Adventures of Timothy Gunn '; an action packed shooting game that would fool anyone to think it was released as a commercial product!

Jarlac - A new Amstrad game incoming from Retrobytes Productions

If you thought Legend of Steel was a decent looking Amstrad game that's soon to be released through the CPCRetroDev competition, then have we got a special treat for you. As earlier today thanks to a heads up from a friend, we have learnt Retrobytes Productions are working on a new Amstrad CPC game called ' Jarlac '. The same team behind the excellent The World War Simulator Part II and Outlaws!

This year so far has been very good for the Amstrad CPC, as we've seen a number of games that have been released such as Galactic Tomb, Pink Pills, Robbie Strikes Back, The Dawn of Kernel and even the incredible dungeon crawler 'The Shadows Of Sergoth'. But the Amstrad is about to get another boost in the homebrew department, as this week the #CPCRetroDev 2018 - Amstrad CPC Game Creation Contest has been announced. As in their words "the 6th edition of the retro game creation contest of the University of Alicante. This contest awards the best and most creative developers of the retro scene, able to develop the best games for Amstrad CPC 464".
