Retro Game Collection - My Story of hurt and recovery (Autism,OCD,PTSD)

Ever since I was 7 years old I've always had a computer or console in some form, I started with the Amstrad CPC 464, the Commodore Amiga and then a 468 PC my Dad got me. Throughout my childhood at School I was bullied almost felt like torture with bruised bones from the endless kicking and punching just because I was slightly overweight and being Autistic. Didn't matter what School I went to, I was treated like utter scum that should not even exist.. Yes suicide was thought of many times, but in the end I just shut myself away. In fact that was my entire childhood, even homelife was bad! And although my mum did try, she was suffering herself with scars from her own life experiences (Her mum beat her).

The Path - Illustrated text-based puzzle game also playable in your browser

Another game released by Adventuron this month and no not a simulation, is the Illustrated Text-Based Puzzle game ' The Path '. Yes indeed it's time to put aside the sim and look towards this rather unusual game, as in the The Path you will encounter a series of challenges, containing situations and actions they may be very dangerous in real life.

My Story - Autism, bullying and the love of retro gaming!

I've been meaning to do this now for a very very long time, but have always felt doing something like this might bore many of you and even turn some of you away. But considering how many years Indie Retro News has been going, and how many great friends I've made along the way now is the time I feel to tell a small part of my story. A story that wont be pages and pages in length, but will be just enough for you to understand doing all of this wasn't an easy road.

Welcome to the story of the Commodore Amiga by Nostalgia Nerd

It's nearly time for bed but have I got an early morning surprise for you! If you want to know more about the Amiga, it's historic story and how it become the legendary system that it is known as today by many retro heads such as myself. Then you really should watch Nostalgia Nerds latest Youtube Part 1 video of ' The Amiga Story '. According to Nostalgia Nerd, who is well known for making great retro system reviews and stories, This episode deals with the "up" part of the story, and takes place during the 1980s. It charts the conception of the Lorraine machine (that would become the first Commodore Amiga), the early years and team spent working on the machine, the buyout of Atari followed by Commodore, the launch of the original Commodore Amiga machine (later renamed the Amiga 1000) and the subsequent Amiga 2000 and Amiga 500 machines which conclude before 1989 is out.

My journey of a retro collection - Part 1 (Amstrad/C64)

Some time back now I did a big retro collection article which featured the Amiga and the Amstrad CPC 6128. Although I felt it was an impressive collection to show off, it was nothing compared to what I'm about to show you today. After a recent chat with ManCrates, in a reflection of my early years and to reminisce about the items which made my generation better than the rest. I decided to get my act together and to write up a two part series of my generation and what made that era so good for me.

My playthrough of "Gone Home" - May contain spoilers!

Hey everyone, I know this game is not exactly brand new but it's on sale for half price on steam so I thought I would give it a go. I had never heard of this game before and the videos all pointed towards a horror game and I loooove horror ;), so anyway, I have just played through this amazing game, I literally finished it just minutes ago and I had to talk about it! I haven't felt this way about a game in a long time in fact I haven't felt this way since I played Half Life 2 on the Xbox so it's been a while.

"Gone Home" was created by 'The Fullbright Company' a group of people (Steve Gaynor, Karla Zimonja, and Johnnemann Nordhagen) who worked together during the development of 'BIOSHOCK'

Ok enough about who made it.

The Last Door - point-and-click adventure horror game (Chapter 1)

The Last Door by developers, The Game Kitchen, is a rather unique point and click adventure game, with it's pixelated graphics and horror story line. It would really suit the old style Sierra games,  just check out that character, full of pixelated detail! What I also like about this well made title, is it's playable in your browser, and as from May 2013, chapter 1 will be free and chapter 2 will be released. Being that this is chapter 1 with the following chapter coming in May, the story unfolds chapter by chapter, which the developers mention as in an interactive web series. I can see why this was a Kickstarter success, but what's the story about?

Torment: Tides of Numenera - Story-driven CRPG

You know there's something special in the making when about four hours after it first appeared you are given a Kickstarter link to do a news article on a game that already has raised over $600,000 out of a total of $900,000, only to find that when you sit down to write the article two hours later that the project has already been fully funded and then some! It seems that you know about this game already! But for those that don't, Torment: Tides of Numenera is what everybody has been getting excited about!

9 Months In - 2d Adventure

A 2d adventure game that was originally made for the AGS Bake Sale, is now available for FREE! 9 Months In, is the story of a pregnant woman that has been wrongly accused and sentenced to 9 months in Jail, but that's not all. You are accused of a new crime while in prison, the murder of one of the inmates, add to that and the previous sentence, it's your story to prove your innocence!

Terra Incognita - A retro inspired RPG

Terra Incognita is a turn-based RPG heavily influenced by retro games such as the Final Fantasy series and Suikoden 2. If you crave for a long, story-driven RPG in the style of games gone by BackToBasicsGaming might be on to a corker.

Full Circle - DayZ Story

This is a very well made story video for those that play DayZ. The person that did this video and those that helped certainly put a lot of work into it and really gives it that movie like feel.
