Yumetaro Odyssey, Dr Who Surrender Time, ZXombies Dead Flesh and Mighty Final Fight, which were heavily featured on our website, along comes another game finished for the ZX-DEV conversion competition ' Gandalf; a multi screen platformer based on the Gandalf character and developed using Nirvana+.

Super Mario World on the NES gets a SNES improvement hack

We've just had an interesting heads up in our inbox, that Super Mario World on the NES has been hacked by Jabu to make the game even more similar to the SNES version, improving gameplay and graphics. Now if you're thinking to yourselves I don't remember Super Mario World on the NES, that's because the game was never officially released on the NES, and was only ported over to the NES from the SNES as a bootleg developed by Hummer Team and released in 1995. Now thanks to Jabu, he has made the game more in line with the SNES version but keeping as much of the core bootleg gameplay intact.

Today just gets better and better as after already showing off an early concept port of AGONY on the MSXTurboR, now we have the first proper glimpse of Super Mario running on the TI-99/4A with F18a Video Upgrade as a project by Asmusr. In development since early 2016, this Super Mario remake from the NES, is being programmed in TMS9900 assembly language without the use of the original source code, has graphics imported from the spriters resource and reworked in Magellan. and music is entered by hand into Mod2PSG2.

Super Mario Fusion: Revival - Crazy retro inspirational platformer! (Recommended)

There's probably not one person out there that doesn't like Mario, as it's one of Nintendo's best selling franchises. So it would be crazy to turn it into anything other than Mario, but that's pretty much what CapnCoconuts and team has done with Super Mario Fusion : Revival. Made in Game Maker with a modified Hello Engine 4 , this crazy fusional platformer takes the best bits of Mario and mixes it up with settings and worlds outside of the Mario universe such as being able to use the Metal Slug SV-001 tank. Even though the game is currently incomplete (currently version 0.5), it certainly impressed us!

The Great Giana Sisters - Controversial classic for Amiga CD32

Earok has one again ported another fine Amiga classic for Amiga CD32 owners and it's none other than the controversial "The Great Giana Sisters". Released in 1987 and developed by Time Warp Products and published by Rainbow Arts, had a controversial production history, similarities to Super Mario and also an alleged lawsuit case. With originals sometimes selling into the £1000's on Ebay on multiple system platforms, the Great Giana Sisters is a brilliant 2D platformer in which the player controls either Giana or her sister Maria.

SEEP World - SeeProductions are back with another cameo induced platformer

SeeProduction are at it again with another retro inspired platformer featuring cameo's and guest stars from other such favorite games such as Super Mario, Street Fighter and others. SEEP World is a game inspired by the old 8-bit action platforming days and features all the free enjoyable gameplay we've come to expect of the developers SeeProduction.  Play across four worlds totaling 12 levels, power yourself up and fight the good fight. Seep World is a free game and is now available for download!

Super Jump Man - Super Mario's Demake via Mini Ludum Dare 50

What do you get if you push Super Mario through a Demake Mini Ludum Dare 50 blender, you'll get Super Jumpman from Zatyka. This Demake is full of fun things to do and Mario has a special trick up his sleeve, he can hop from one wall to another. But as is always the case with Mario games, there are baddies to contend with, and traps to avoid, but that shouldn't be a problem for the Mario pro's out there.  All in all it's a fun game but I felt it was laggy at times on this Mac and even though there is a button to run, my character wouldn't. But for being free and browser based, I can't complain too much.
