Commodore : The Inside Story by David John Pleasance - A book Kickstarter you really should back!
Through all these later years and Kickstarter book campaigns and documentaries, you'd probably think there wasn't anything else to write about when it comes to that historic C64 and Amiga company 'Commodore'. But that is all about to change, as here we have a brand new Kickstarter campaign for the Commodore : The Inside Story book, which is actually being told by one of the Commodore legends 'David John Pleasance', who was a former UK Managing Director of that famous company!
The Sea Voyagers &D - Explore the New World on your old C64 computer
Inspired by an Ebay find, MadMax of Mad Hacker's Incorporated teamed up with Hokuto Force for a new release of The Sea Voyagers (1984). This release adds the game's manual, and comes with a photo of the keyboard overlay, which you'll need to play the game. This is a mainly text based interactive history lesson, don't expect any arcade thrills or pirating glory. But if you've got any interest in knowing a little bit more about early European explorers, or would like to test your knowledge, or have kids who like history, then this is definitely worth checking out.

Peter Leigh's (Nostalgia Nerd) in depth look into our nostalgic gaming past
Now I'm not one for going on about other peoples Youtube channels as to be honest I find them either too childish or just not to my taste. But Peter Leigh (Nostalgia Nerd) is fast becoming a very popular Youtubber with a number of good in depth videos ranging from the the Amiga CD32, to the C64 for you to watch. He doesn't go all crazy on us with high pitched voices but is both interesting to watch and will put a smile on your face. So check them out, and sub his channel for more historic gaming machines.
The Story of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum in Pixels - Retro gaming at it's finest [Book Review]
Strange as it may seem, but I've always been mainly an Amstrad retro gamer. My first computer being an Amstrad CPC 464 purchased for my birthday by my mum way back when I was 7 years old. But yet there was another computer that really pulled me in as I used to play it at my friends house on many occasions, the ZX Spectrum. There was something the ZX Spectrum had over me that the Amstrad didn't, maybe it was the fact that I always wanted to play River Raid or hearing the many bleeps and blops coming from the little machine. Yet here we are, many many years ahead and I was to get a very special book in the post, a book from Chris Wilkins titled 'The Story of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum in pixels'.

"ZX Spectrum Story in pixels" - Chris Wilkins's latest book kickstarter fund begins
From Bedrooms to Billions - The story of the UK Video Games Industry but with a kickstarter
This is a rather cool project for a Kickstarter and one that I've not seen before. Unlike most Kickstarters we've featured here have been games, this is oh so slightly different. This Kickstarter, which has already gone way past it's goal, is going to be a two hour feature length documentary featuring some of the best game developers of our time, going way back to 1979! It's also a true story of the British Video Games Industry and how a small number of great individuals shaped this industry.
