Dungeon Kingdom - Enjoyable Dungeon Crawler gets a highly requested feature added!

Although we do gaming write ups, we tend not to mention every single update that happens to games while they are in Early Access. A game during that stage of feedback development, can be a completely different beast to when they are first mentioned, plus it's hugely time consuming. But when it comes to Hydro Games dungeon crawler of ' Dungeon Kingdom ', of which we did an early preview. Not only is it an enjoyable experience to play so far, but the developers have today announced a number of features added to the game, with one of them being a highly requested Auto-map!

Bloodwych (The Rise of Zendik) - 42 Level LOG mod based on Bloodwych!

In my search for other well known dungeon crawlers, I was surprised to find that gamers are still developing dungeons for that rather impressive 2012 game known as Legend of Grimrock. One such MOD stood out and was only recently released last week, but as of yet doesn't have any feedback, was ' Bloodwych (The Rise of Zendik) '.  A Complete MOD and add-on to the original 16bit PC/Amiga/Atari ST game Bloodwych of the 1990's, in the spirit of the original version but reworked for a more updated feel.

Dungeon Kingdom - A retro inspired dungeon crawler but is it any good? (Preview)

It’s that time again - a new grid based first person dungeon crawler has been released and I’ve been really looking forward to this one! I've been following it’s progress for a while and building up a fair amount of anticipation and expectation. Now it’s out, and even if it’s in Early Access right now, I could not resist giving it a play through. I’m normally quite reluctant to playing Early Access games, since I’ve more than once witnessed developers gladly taking my money and then abandoning further development.

Forgotten Forces - Pixelated retro inspired dungeon crawler gets new footage

Another update today and this one comes from the developers Bumblebee, of the retro inspired dungeon crawler 'Forgotten Forces'. You may remember our previous write up which only featured one screen and the only information being that they are developing in Unity 5 with PC/Mac/Linux support, but today the developers have released new screenshots and a brand new trailer!

Forgotten Forces - Early dungeon crawler tease!

For some reason we haven't seen many in development dungeon crawlers lately, even on our Facebook group. So we was pleased to hear from Bumblebee of a new game called ' Forgotten Forces', that they are developing in Unity 5, with graphics which are being made in Photoshop and PyxelEdit. Currently aiming for a PC/Mac/Linux release, this dungeon experience will be somewhat more PC-progression, story and battle-biased than puzzles, so more Eye of the Beholder and less LOG. As of yet we don't have any more details but rest assured as soon as we know more, we will as always give you the heads up.

Isle of the Deranged - Large 15+ hour game play mod for Legend of Grimrock 2

I was talking to my retro gaming friends the other day about which games were the best dungeon crawlers and the general response was between Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder and Lands of Lore. But ask the modern gamer and every single time they say to me Legend of Grimrock! Which is pretty interesting as Legend of Grimrock is almost as good as those classics but bang up to date with modern features. So to improve upon the greatness of LOG 2, we have 'Isle of Deranged'; a very large 15 hour game mod that was released this month!

Daedalic Adventures & Dungeon Crawlers Deals - The BIG 2014 DRM-Free GOG Winter Sale continues!

Although we probably wont be mentioning every single deal going on at GOG we will be mentioning these two awesome bundle deals currently under a 24hour timer. For anyone who is a huge fan of adventure games then Daedalic Adventures featuring Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav, Night of the Rabbit, Memoria & Journey of a Roach is an epic adventure deal of only £9.06 (that's 85% off!). Back into the Dungeon - Dungeon Master remake for LOG!

Even though we have the more recent Legend of Grimrock 2 to play which is getting some pretty impressive reviews, it's time to look back to the original LOG 1 and check out the latest Dungeon Crawling mod that's sure to appeal. Back into the Dungeon, that's available through the Nexus, is a very faithful remake of an incredible classic called Dungeon Master.

Legend of Grimrock 2 - Now in Beta gets a teaser trailer!

As a huge fan of Lands of Lore, Eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Master, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Legend of Grimrock 2, developed by Almost Human Ltd is now officially in Beta. A sequel to the incredible Legend of Grimrock, which sold well over 600,000 copies world wide, will have all new game features, enemies, new levels and outdoor levels which was an awesome experience in both Eye of the Beholder 2 and Lands of Lore.

Prisoner of Bleakhall - The Legend of Grimrock gets a new fan dungeon and it's BIG!

It's been awhile since we've had a new dungeon for the Legend of Grimrock and thus, along comes Prisoner of Bleakhall, a massive fan based dungeon totalling 15 main floors! Developed by LocalFire who has put all his creative style into creating a massive dungeon. This will probably take you a few hours or even more just figuring out the puzzles, and fighting the evil creatures that lurk beneath. Another neat addition are new titlesets, and new creatures not seen in the original Grimrock game. Staying true to fashion, Prisoner of Bleakhall has everything a dungeon crawler needs, including side stepping, puzzle solving and creature battles ( Oh and loot! ).

Legend of Chaos - A Legend of Grimrock dungeon crawler RPG without the spiders!

Legend of Grimrock was an epic Dungeon Crawler RPG that earned much respect from the gaming community, it was a new game based on an old school style. A game that had your four characters moving through tight creepy dungeons in a grid based movement system, combat with enemies, puzzles, riddles, traps and doors. But what let it down for some was the spiders, either through phobias or just down right too difficult. I myself found them to be a pain to deal with and nearly gave up playing. So how would you like the chance to play through the game again, but without the spiders, now you can with Legend of Chaos. This Mod, Legend of Chaos uses the source files from the great LoG Remake.

Legend of Grimrock - The CHAOS Key (MOD)

Here's another impressive mod for Legend of Grimrock, the incredible Dungeon Crawler RPG released last year, which we've featured a number of times, including a big mod list. This is THE CHAOS Key, a new mod which features 13 levels, nearly 25hrs of game play, new music and everything else a Dungeon Crawler should have. It also includes new secrets, puzzles, lots of custom texture assets and the all important fighting. If you've purchased Legend of Grimrock, you just have to try this mod!

Legend of Grimrock - Master Quest (Overhaul Mod)

Many of our readers love Dungeon Crawlers and it came as no surprise that Legend of Grimrock sold extremely well with a huge fan base. In short, Legend of Grimrock has a First Person viewpoint as did EOTB. You start the game by creating a character and then dumped in a Dungeon while moving in a grid based system. Featuring great combat, lots of enemies, a beautiful textured dungeon(s) and unusual puzzles. So now we have a new way to look at Legend of Grimrock with the release of Master Quest, which is a complete re-working of the entire original game.
