Wonder Boy Remake - A fabulous remake for the Amstrad 128k is teased again with some demo footage!

One such game I used to love was that fantastic platformer ' Wonder Boy ' designed by Ryuichi Nishizawa. A game which started its life as a skateboarding rock jumping and axe bashing platformer, that later became the adventure platformer with RPG elements Wonderboy in Monsterland. And it's the original Wonderboy which is getting an announcement, as thanks to the creator Benjamin Yoris@BenYoris letting us know, the classic skateboarding platformer which many of us still love to this day, is still coming to the Amstrad CPC as a much improved 128k version!

Wonder Boy Remake - A fabulous remake for the Amstrad 128k gets a one level Xmas tease

When I was a wee lad spending all my money down at the Arcades, one such game I used to love was that fantastic platformer ' Wonder Boy ' designed by Ryuichi Nishizawa. Instead of those later Wonder Boy games which became more of an adventure platformer with RPG elements, such as the brilliant Wonderboy The Dragon's Trap. This game was all about a boy who at times rode a skateboard, jumped rocks, and with axe in hand dealt with snails, snakes and even bats!

Both of these games have lived on in the hearts of many, and as such, one fan is developing his own Wonderboy game but this time for the Amiga.

Monster World RPG - A charming RPG inspired by the Monster World/Wonder Boy series

I seriously can't believe I missed out on this when it was launched in August of this year, as we have only just found out there has been a release of the 'Monster World RPG'; a large fan game developed using RpgMaker2003, and inspired by the 1980's Monster World/Wonder Boy series. Now if you've been following our site for sometime, you would've know that not only was there an enhanced Amiga alpha version of Wonderboy in Monster Land, but Wonderboy in Monster Land was released and Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom is still in development. With a heads up by CFK, Wonder Boy Returns is a complete remake of the first Wonder Boy game, which originally appeared in the Arcades as a highly addictive side scrolling skateboard rock jumping and axe bashing platformer.

Mogwash - Adorable platformer aims for a Steam Greenlight success

Pabagames recently contacted us to let us know about their rather adorable and cute, retro inspired game that's currently going through a Steam Greenlight campaign. In truth, it has inspirations based on Wonder Boy and Rainbow Islands, but also inspired by PC Shareware games such as the platformer Duke Nukem. This is their latest game from the co-creator of Jasper's Journeys - ' Mogwash '; in which you need to save Sludge City from looting, polluting gangsters and eat lots of delicious mogsnacks on the way. Mogwash is a pile of retro goodness all squashed into one ginormous pie!

Monster Boy and The Wizard of Booze - Could this be the next Wonder Boy?

When I was growing up there was one game that really stood out as a grand platformer that I simply could not stop playing at the Arcades, and that was Wonder Boy. It was a game by Ryuichi Nishizawa that started it's life as a skateboard rock jumping and enemy axe bashing platformer that later became a medieval platformer on multiple systems with both action and RPG elements.
