The Great Giana Sisters arrives on the Commodore Plus/4 and it looks fab!

Many of you already know of this game especially Amiga and C64 owners as this game has huge similarities to Super Mario and as such way back in the 80's also had an alleged lawsuit case against them from Nintendo. In fact during the last number of years, there wasn't just a Giana Special Edition by Reimagine Games and then of course the Great Giana-Sisters Construction-Set, but we also had a 30th anniversary version for the C64 by The-Seven-A-Three in celebration of this rather famous game. So why are we writing about this game again? Well you'll be pleased to know that as of today, TCFS together with Csabo and Unreal, has released The Great Giana Sisters for the Commodore Plus/4!

We've certainly heard a lot about that famous platformer the Great Giana Sisters from 1987, especially as it came back to the Amiga as a Giana Special Edition by Reimagine Games and then of course the Great Giana-Sisters Construction-Set, whereby you can create your own levels. But this latest release as Giana-Sisters 30th Anniversary Preview on the C64 by The-Seven-A-Three, is something of a special breed and one you might be interested in checking out!

Giana Sisters DS - Giana Sisters for the Nintendo DS gets the C64 SID treatment

On my C64 at home I have well over a thousand C64 SID tunes, ranging from music used in classic games in the 80's, to homebrews and even tunes used in scene demos. But this evenings release via CSDb is a little bit special. As LMan has made available for the C64 his SID remake of the 2009 Nintendo DS version of Giana Sisters, which was composed and arranged by Fabian del Priore aka Rapture, and is itself a cover of Chris Hülsbeck's original Giana Sisters Title Theme.

Giana Sisters - Classic C64 gameplay, free to play!

Game Genre : Platformer
Game Info Quote : Although the original Giana Sisters was first released in 1987 for the C64, and with great success I might add, this is that very game unofficially remade for the PC, by Ridley X Games. A game that features all the best bits from the original title, including the brilliant retro music. Furthermore, if you enjoyed the original Mario, then this game is very similar to that, with it's head block smashing character and jumping on enemies. So collect those diamonds while using the lightning bolt to shoot enemies, and then reach the end.
Release : Now, Free
Systems : PC
