Groupees Be Mine 8 - The best bundle so far?

Groupees have announced the Be Mine 8 bundle, in which you pay a certain price for a huge stash of epic games. Now in my opinion this is probably the best bundle we've posted so far on Indie Retro News, as it contains some pretty awesome titles, especially Patrician IV and DrakenSang. If you want to be a strong trader, with great graphics, long playability or an epic rpg with a great story, you can't go wrong with those two games, but check out the rest as well.

Reus - Control mighy giants for the development of humanity

Due for release tomorrow (16th May) is Reus, which is a 2D god game being developed by Abbey Games, a Dutch independent game studio in the style of Black of White. Reus has a lovely artistic style and you control natures giants to balance human progression. You can create mountains and oceans, forests and more. Enrich your planet with plants, minerals and animal life. But can you guide humanity to utopia, or will human greed ultimately destroy civilization?

Javatari - A multiplayer Atari 2600 emulator written in pure Java.

If you're old enough like me, you may well remember the Atari 2600, which was an 8-bit game console released in September 1977 by Atari, Inc. It had a fantastic list of games for it's time and one such game I fondly remember was California Games. I mean come on, who did not like the skateboarding or bike riding down the mountainside, such great fun. Well now you can relive those days with Javatari, which is a multiplayer Atari2600 emulator written in pure java. It looks very well made and there is also a two player option. However you will need the roms, which are searchable but we wont provide!

Nvidia GeForce 320.14 BETA Drivers

Nvidia has released the latest 320.14 beta drivers for most Nvidia based cards. This is the GeForce Game Ready driver for Metro: Last Light providing up to 10% faster performance. Although this is not strictly Indie or Retro related, you will need the latest drivers in some gaming situations such as Metro ;). Hopefully these drivers are better than the previous 320.00's which caused no end of problems for many, including freeze ups in windows. So let's see what's been fixed!

Crawl - Student project based Dungeon Crawler all through Game Maker!

It must be Dungeon Crawler day as another one has just surfaced! Titled, Crawl, is a student based project from the developer JMRante and created using the Game Maker engine. Although the developer states that the game is heavily flawed, it's also said that it's an impressive demonstation of how far the Game Maker engine can be stretched. I for one have never used Game Maker, but going by the screenshot above, it looks pretty good. As for the Crawl story, you play the role of a mental physician who has entered his patient’s mind in order to deal away with their traumas. Throughout the crawling experience you'll travel diverse dream worlds, fight bizarre infections and reunite memory fragments all through a verb based system and action-timed combat.

Heroinedusk - A fun browser based dungeon crawler (Demo)

Heroine Dusk which is being developed by Clint Bellanger and music by YubaTakeis, is a damn fine browser based Dungeon Crawler RPG that's easy to use and fun to play. Heroine Dusk uses the same classic grid based system of other Dungeon Crawlers and ease of use is simply the clicking of action icons on the right hand side. It looks fantastic as well, with it's varying difference in the enemies and cartoonish textures. Above all, make sure to kill the enemies to gain gold and xp to use at the shop for new items, but is it enough to heal the darkness that has taken over the land?

Mr. Rescue - Throw people out of a window of a burning building, all via this 2D Platformer

What if you could be a fireman, that had a high powered water blaster, and the best way to rescue people was by actually picking them up and throwing them out of any window? Well now you can, with Mr.Rescue. This is an arcade 2d action platform game, developed by Tangram Games, in which you must evacuate people from burning buildings. Your weapon is a powerful water blaster which can take down the enemies which are flame based, but if you reach the end a big bad fire boss awaits! But be warned, you must keep an eye on your blaster as if you empty it, it could well overheat and need extra cooling! A fun game for all the family and free as well, this platformer is certainly worth a try.

Mars Colonies - Well made Space Strategy/RTS flash game!

Developed by Kendja and artistic work by LeonlDeye is a very well made Flash Based Strategy/RTS called Mars Colonies, which as you expect is all about colonies on Mars. Just the other day I thought to myself what if we had another outpost style game, which was a great title from Sierra, well this may fit that gap until we ever see it's like again. Mars Colonies is all about the building and protecting of your own colonies, with the ability to hire skillful colonists which you must help them to survive mars quakes, dust storms and other threats. This is a damn fine game and even though it's flash based, I'm sure you'll be impressed too!
