When I was growing up there was a game I used to love playing with friends whereby your task was to drop bombs, and hopefully blow up other players in a maze like game screen. That game was none other than Bomberman also known as Dynablaster. A game which was actually first released way back in 1983 by Hudson Soft and then published by Konami. Penguin Tower - An enjoyable Bomberman clone for the C64 has been recovered and released!

We've been flooded with awesome news lately, from Super Bagman for the Commodore Amiga, to the overhauled Kung Fu Master on the Amstrad and Stunt Car Racer for the Apple II. Well we are going over to the C64 for some gaming news, as thanks to Saberman contacting us recently, he has told us that the 1994 game of 'Penguin Tower' has been recovered and released. A game that was in development by Jani Hirvo, and thought lost for all time when Jon Wells tried to make an arrangement with the coder to distribute the game in the UK and sell across Europe back in the 90's.

It might be heading towards 1am, but boy do we have a nice ZX Spectrum game for you to play! It's ' Bomb Munchies ' developed by Mat Gubbins, which is kind of like Bomberman but has lots of deadly spiders walking about placing webs! Oh and this game is also up to 4 player, so if you've got some friends around for a party, load this game up for an evening of ZX Spectrum enjoyment!

Booming Boy - Bomberman inspired arcade release for the MSX2 with a Demo!

Through all the years of retro gaming, there is one name that always stands out in the crowd, and that is Bomberman or as it's also called Dynablaster. This incredibly addictive game was originally developed by Hudson Soft in which you move a character around a maze like game screen, collecting power ups and placing bombs to clear obstacles or wiping out enemies. What made the game so challenging is the fact that bombs can also be a hindrance and if placed incorrectly can also kill you and your friends if being played in multiplayer. Such a brilliant game for it's time and every so often we get a clone of Bomberman by different developers and 'Booming Boy' developed for the MSX2 is one such game that certainly is a worthy addition to this retro line up.

Megablasters: Escape from Castle in the Clouds - A brilliant arcade release for the Amstrad CPC!

After 20 years since one of the best Bomberman style games appeared on the Amstrad in the form of Megablasters. It's time to present you a brand new homebrew release of Megablasters: Escape from Castle in the Clouds. A massive game for it's time spanning nearly 1MB in data has now been given the more up to date treatment by Project Argon. Just like the original, you must clear the way with bombs and by blowing up enemies, but watch out, if you get hit, your energy will decrease and you will at some point die.

Now here's a great classic nearly everyone has heard of, it's the great "Bomberman" also known as Dynablaster. An awesome Arcade game first developed by Hudson Soft that has so far sold well over a million copies and is incredibly addictive, especially in multiplayer mode. In these brilliant arcade classics your goal is to complete each level and reach the exit by strategically placing bombs in order to either kill enemies, your friends or to destroy objects. Power ups can be collected to give yourself the edge, but watch out as not only can other bombs kill you, you can kill yourself!
