Along comes this new announcement from the same team that they have released the eagerly awaited game called 'Bubble Bobble: Lost Cave'. As in the words of the creator, "For the first time in 39 years, Bubble Bobble on Commodore 64 receives a true spiritual sequel."

Contra Hard Corps - Hit Points Restoration Hack

If you were a Megadrive/Genesis owner back in 1994 you were probably as glad and surprised as I was when Konami released a Contra game for the system. And what a game!. Contra: Hard Corps features 4 different characters with 16 unique weapons, a total of 14 levels with 6 different endings and 38 different bosses to fight!

But when Hard Corps was released outside Japan something was changed. In the original Japanese version of the game each character actually had a health meter letting your character take two extra hits before being killed. This was removed making the game a bit harder as you could only take one hit. So let's fix this and bring back the healthmeter using the power of romhacking!

Thy Sword - Tiny pixelated action platformer gets an early launch Trailer

Even more retro inspirations today and one that looks a lot more pixelated than Tower 57, is the upcoming hack n' slash platformer ' Thy Sword '  which not only had a successful Steam Greenlight campaign we've since been told the developers GamePhase have released a brand new launch Trailer to coincide with a possible November release! As noted by our previous write ups, Thy Sword draws its inspiration from Norse mythology with a touch of Conan the Barbarian, mixed up with great games such as Golden Axe, Moonstone and surprisingly enough Bubble Bobble.

Gabriele Amore is certainly no slouch in the area of ZX Spectrum development, as so far he has released games such as Castle Capers, Chunk Zone, Popeye(Conversion), GOOD NIGHT KANGA and even the ZX arcade port of Donkey Kong Jr. But this week as a very early tease and once again developed using Arcade Game Designer ( AGD ), he has now shown off another game in development and this time it's the Bomb Jack and Bubble Bobble mix of ' Super Bubble Bobble Boy '

We haven't done any decent free online playable games for awhile, so lets throw Benjamin Soulé's ' Mistigri ' into the mix, which is inspired by that brilliant arcade game ' Bubble Bobble '. Developed for the PICO-8 but available to play online in your PC browser, Mistigri is a 1 to 2 player arcade game, with 22 levels of ball throwing, enemy picking and fruit grabbing fun!

This is ' Bara Burū ', developed by Kagesan, for the Sega Master System. An Arcade game released during the coding competition 2016 with some rather interesting inspirations. In fact, if you went by what everyone else was saying on the forums, this is Shinobi Kidd meets Bubble Bobble!

As soon as I saw Earok's name popping up, telling me of a new Amiga CD32 release, I was just too excited to ignore it and thus turned my computer on to share this glorious news.
