A new Commodore Amiga game, whereby you need whack as many as Skulls as possible for a high score. P.T. - Haplo's Horror game released for the Commodore 64
Even more Halloween games to get through as looking through the itch io website, we've found out that the developer of Haplo. Who was behind games such as Tenebra, Ooze: The Escape, and Nixy and the Seeds of Doom has released the Commodore 64 horror game called 'P.T'. The Rebirth of Cthulhu - Awaken the mighty Cthulhu in this new ZX Spectrum game by CarlosITV
With Halloween fast approaching, you'd expect to see more creepy games with pumpkins, ghouls and ghosts to deal with. One such game by the developer CarlosITV certainly has that spooky appeal. As he has released the latest arcade platformer called The Rebirth of Cthulhu. A game in which you have to gather the ten fragments of the Necronomicon to awaken the mighty Cthulhu. Another game that's worth a mention for Halloween and one I think will drive some of you insane for the ever increasing difficulty level, is the challenging game update of 'Magic Tower' v1.1 for the ZX Spectrum by Seagal112. A game in which you must recover your fluffy hat, that has been taken to the top of the magic tower by your naughty cat PomPom. An early morning retro gaming news story has appeared, as thanks to another heads up by XeNoMoRPH who has just posted a gameplay video, he has told us that The Mojon Twins has released the Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum game of Ramiro el Vampiro IV.A game that puts you in control of Ramire the vampire, on a quest to collect some papyrus from an ancient Pyramid. A Pyramid that is said to be once ruled by the Sun god Aton. To coincide with this news, XeNoMoRPH has also done a video of the game which as ever can be viewed below.
Manic Miner: Trick or Treat - A creepy Halloween Mod for the original Matthew Smith classic!
Even more awesome games to get through this week, as we've recently been informed through Facebook that the all time classic of 'Manic Miner' by Matthew Smith, which was originally released way back in 1983, has been re-released as Manic Miner: Trick or Treat for the ZX Spectrum. A brand new Halloween Mod by none other than Highriser. To coincide with this latest news story, Saberman has done a gameplay video showing Miner Willy using a torch in hand to light his rather dangerous surroundings.

We were a bit late on this one but it's still worth mentioning even on a Sunday, as thanks to another heads up by Saberman who has just posted a gameplay video for both versions, he has told us that The Mojon Twins has released the Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum game of Ramiro el Vampiro III. This game available as a name your own price, puts you in control of Ramire the vampire on a quest to collect some bloody mushrooms from the forest near Cheshire (province of Badajoz).
Luna - Frantic yet fun C64 game for Halloween
It's Halloween today and you know what that means... Ghostly games! Yes indeed the first one up for this creepy season is a C64 game called ' Luna ' by Shallan and team developed for the latest Halloween Game Dev Competition. In this game playing as a witch, you must traverse through dangerous caverns while avoiding many waves of enemies as a one hit death experience. Basically one hit and it's game over!

Halloween for 2018 is done and dusted, and hopefully a good and safe time had by all. Horror is a genre which feeds into many media albeit movies, books or video games. In fact, some of the best selling games over the years have been Horror based. The 8 bit system's didn't miss out this these types of games either, and often produced some of the very best titles on the platform. Pond Software are certainly no strangers to the C64 community, especially with their very popular game The Bear Essentials having been released and liked by many. If you hadn't noticed, it was recently Halloween and to celebrate at the end of Oct, beginning of Nov, Gamejolt hosted the second annual Asylum Jam. A 48 hour long game jam to produce horror genre games without alluding to mental illness. The result is a strong field of 50 game entries from individuals and collaborations alike.
Halloween 2014 - Musical treat for C64 owners!
As we have just over 1 hour left of Halloween lets finish it off with a fine C64 tune released by Software of Sweden. A tune so good, it feels like an up beat 8-bit horror mix. Don't expect a great amount of background wizardry but do expect a cool image that really suits the time of the month!
