BDTZ - A Zombie themed Cannon Fodder game for the Amiga by Acneproduction [UPDATE]

If you remember the game Cannon Fodder on the Amiga, then take a look at how this game plays, it will bring back a little bit of nostalgia! Ok... So Cannon Fodder didn't have Zombies (Not that I remember) but the style of game play is very similar in this game called BDTZ by Acneproduction. A new Zombie themed Cannon Fodder game, which the developer has announced with a new and improved demo for the Commodore Amiga.

Cannon Fodder (Sensible Software Game, Commodore Amiga, 1993)

It’s weird what makes the world go round. Everybody has different tastes. I suppose that is an essential element in life, otherwise we would inhabit a very sterile and dull place. For example I love rock music. I have done since I was young and for the last twenty-five years I have played in a variety of rock covers and tribute bands. But I hate the band ‘Kiss’ with a passion. In my view they are a band with an extraordinary talent for putting on a show and self-promotion, but underneath it all they have little to offer. Musically and lyrically their songs sound (to me) as if they have been written by a thirteen year old. I see them as THE ultimate example of style over substance. But still I have a number of friends that like them. Am I wrong? Are they wrong? Or we all simply entitled to our opinion?

Cannon Fodder - The best War game on the Amiga, play it now PC/MAC Gamers!

No words can describe just how amazing this game is, there isn't that many people on this planet right now that haven't heard of Cannon Fodder. A military game with a sense of humor and a cool music soundtrack to boot!  If you love controlling armies of little men, that you care so much about, while shooting the bad guys in a splattering of blood, then this is the game for you. Furthermore apart from the PC versions which are available to buy on GOG, and the cool Amiga CD32 compilations, you can of course check out the easily launchable Amiga versions on a PC/MAC either via The Company or GamesNostalgia.

OpenFodder - Open sourced Cannon Fodder gets a big 1.0 release!

We've just been given the heads up on our Facebook page by the main developer Robbie Crossfield, for the first 1.0 release of the open sourced version for Cannon Fodder as ' OpenFodder 1.0 '. Yes indeed, that retro classic with all it's " War has never been so much fun " charm from 1993 by Sensible Software, is open source ported by Robert and based upon the DOS CD version with the Amiga Format Christmas Special Edition included!

Open Fodder - Open sourced Cannon Fodder reaches version 0.9!

In 1993 Sensible Software and published by Virgin Interactive released one of the best top down war based shooters I have ever played in my life (War has never been so much fun).  It was none other than Cannon Fodder (wiki)! An action-strategy shooter first released for the Amiga and then ported to DOS, Atari ST, Archimedes, Jaguar, Mega Drive, SNES and 3DO. But the news of today comes from Robert Crossfield, the developer behind the open source port of the original as ' Open Fodder '.

Lemmings Amiga classic comes alive on your desktop from Pixel Nation!

Our Facebook group for the Commodore Amiga  has grown to a massive 10,000 members and as is the case with that many users every so often we get something special. No it's not a free Amiga for all, but Pixel Nation developer of the previous Cannon Fodder and Wings on your desktop video, has now released the latest footage of 'OH NO! MORE LEMMINGS ON MY DESK!'. That's right, Lemmings has come alive on your very desktop as if it was real life! Watch as the those little guys slip and fall in the very latest Pixel Nation release.

The Amiga comes alive on your desk top from Pixel Nation!

After the recent acquisition of the biggest Commodore Amiga Facebook group, we knew for a fact that at some point there would be a post that would really cause a big fuss in the community. No it's not the tedious 30 year old computer heating a school, but it is a rather impressive short animation project by Pixel Nation of an Amiga game as if it was playing out on your computer desk! Don't believe me, then check out these two videos from PN showing what would happen if Cannon Fodder or Wings Of Fury was to happen right before your very eyes!

Cannon Fodder : Action packed collection for Amiga CD32

If you said to any Amiga gamer, "War has never been so much fun" they'd probably know what game(s) you were thinking of. As for those of you that don't, it's the perfectly action packed Cannon Fodder, plus it's sequel Cannon Fodder 2 and all expansions and demo discs. First developed by Sensible Software in 1993, you the player control a small squad of up to five soldiers through more than 20 missions as you take out enemy units, buildings and vehicles in some of the best games ever released. Thanks to Earok you can now play all these fine games on your Amiga CD32!

Cannon Fodder - An all time classic ported to Amiga CD32

According to Earok the next Amiga CD32 port has been released and this one is sure to give some pretty intense memories from just the cover alone. It's none other than Cannon Fodder, an all time classic Action-Strategy Shoot 'em up developed by Sensible Software and published by Virgin in 1993. This grand game of mission based and military battling, also had a pretty famous soundtrack with the words "War, it's never been so much fun" to promote their controversial Amiga game.

Undeadz! - Cannon Fodder and DayZ get mashed up in a new Zombie survival retro inspired game (Steam Greenlight)

If you remember the game Cannon Fodder on the Amiga, then take a look at how this game plays, it will bring back a little bit of nostalgia! Ok... So Cannon Fodder didn't have Zombies (Not that I remember) but the style of game play is very similar in this game UndeadZ, to that of the classic! Especially as you aim and shoot by using the mouse cursor, and see a little pixelated man moving about. But this isn't just any shooter either, oh no. As it's also similar to DayZ! As you can actually search the buildings, find items and even drive various vehicles, such as the lawnmower in the trailer. It just looks so damn awesome and it's even in that lovely pixelated retro style. As such the developers want your votes and I for one hope it's a Steam Greenlight Success!

Medal Wars : The First One - A Cannon Fodder style shooter with a sense of humor (kickstarter/demo)

Here comes Medal Wars, which is a new a project by Bluestargeneral, that's currently going through a kickstarter and on Steam Greenlight. This WW1 title aims to give you that little bit of a nostalgic taste of the old school retro game Cannon Fodder, but far more up to date with tons of cool features.  You take the role of a fresh recruit with your madman partner "buddy" in an isometric shooter game to save the inept Green Army from total destruction. Although it's a ton of fun, it's completely bonkers with a cartoonish design and plenty of humor. A game that should hopefully be a succesful kickstarter, but that's down to you!

Medal Wars - isometric shooter

Here comes a Cannon Fodder style shooter with enough humor to match, as it will keep you smiling through all the fast paced action Medal Wars can provide. In a world of war and epic battles, one man overcomes his fate to become the greatest soldier ever! ( Wonder how many times I've heard that :)
