Tower 57 - Top of its class retro inspired shooter with a new gameplay trailer

Another one of my most eagerly awaited games and a Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight success is Pixwerks 16-bit shooter ' Tower 57 '. It takes the best out of hit Amiga games such as Chaos Engine while having a rather unique steampunk vibe as you play as a selection of extraordinary individuals sent to infiltrate the reclusive Tower 57. Containing awesome 16-bit inspired pixel art, destructible environments and a ton of blasting action, this game has now received a new gameplay trailer!

Rune Monster - Renovated RPG with a new story and curious characters for MSX2

After all these MSX and MSX 2 games we've been mentioning, it's probably about time I try to get hold of an original system, but until that time lets give a shout out to Kai Magazine's renovated RPG, ' Rune Monster ', which is due for release 18th June. The original game Rune Master was actually released in the early 90's by Compile and looked very much like an old skool NES game, except in this one, you rolled the dice.

Tanks Furry - Tank based shooter for the Amiga gets a floppy update!

Only just the other week we mentioned the top down tank shooter " Tanks Furry " developed by PROJECT R3D, which was up for pre-order for the Amiga and due to be released next month Feb 2016. Featuring hand made school pixel graphics, a dedicated chip tune and sfx, over 40 missions to play, several themed zones such as woodlands and deserts, five different tanks and even multiplayer, we have been informed by Solo that this lovely looking game has been updated with a floppy edition! That means if you order the main CD release and pay 5,00 PLN on top, you'll also get lots of lovely floppies. - Fantastic!

Insert Disk 2 album by Instant Remedy is just so good!

When I'm not writing articles I usually have a kick ass retro track playing in the background either at full volume through my speakers or through my headphones. One such album which I listen to on a regular basis since it was released, is 'Insert Disk 2' by Instant Remedy. This album was over seven years in the making and features incredible remixes of such tunes as Battle Squadron "Ingame", Seven Gates Of Jambala and many more all expertly mastered by Holger Lagerfeldt. Some of you may find this hard to believe but I cannot write any articles without some form of retro tune playing in the background, it really gives that extra feel to writing about those classic games. We especially get some great feedback when it comes to chiptune albums such as Aaron White's releases or through our favourite station Roland Radio.
