Super Space Towers - A seriously cool modern 'Thrust' for PC and Consoles coming early 2021

One of the best Amstrad games I ever played with my dad, was the 1986 Firebird release of ' Thrust '. It was an extremely challenging vectored thrust game that required the best of your skills to tractor an orb out from underneath dangerous cave like landscapes. Most of your time was spent blasting power stations or avoiding smashing into rocks but the game kept you hooked! Now if you were also a fan of this great game, you'll be pleased to know that Happy Cactus Games are taking the classic Thrust into a new level of awesomeness in 'Super Space Towers'.

Thrust 30 - A truly awesome version of Thrust aims for a Greenlight success

Earlier this month we did a big feature of HayesMaker's Thrust remake known as ' Thrust 30 ' for PC, Mac and Linux. It is a 2D vectored game that celebrated the 30th anniversary of Jeremy Smith's "Thrust", which puts you in control of a fast moving ship that could blast away defences, take out power stations and tractor orbs from deep underground and out into space. Well you'll be pleased to know after our recent feedback saying it was a recommended game with a bloody awesome soundtrack by Matt Gray, it's now going through a Steam Greenlight campaign with a demo that needs all your thumbs up.

Taking inspirations from that classic game Thrust but with a unique twist, Gravity Star Race is more of a shoot em up affair as you have to blast everything under ground while keeping an eye on your shield level.

Gravitus Minus - A seriously cool modern 'Thrust' for PC and Linux

One of the best Amstrad games I ever played with my dad, was the 1986 Firebird release of ' Thrust '. Most your time was spent blasting power stations or avoiding smashing into rocks but the game kept you hooked! Now a developer by the name of kometbomb has created possibly the next best modern style Thrust as ' Gravitus Minus ' for PC and Linux.

Transball - Difficulty increased in this Thrust like MSX game

When I was growing up, one of the best Amstrad games I ever played with my dad, was the 1986 Firebird release of ' Thrust '. It involved the controlling of a ship using vectored thrust that had to pick up orbs with a tractor beam, blasting power plants, avoiding the landscape while doing so, and then flying off into space. It was a fantastic retro game indeed, so you'll have forgive me if I got a little bit excited over Santiago Ontañón Villar's new MSX game 'Transball' which is very much like Thrust and released just recently!

Deep Core Raider - Loved Thrust? Then play this new ZX Spectrum game!

It was so much fun, yet with the way the landscapes were designed it was also very difficult. So what if I told you there was a new homebrew ZX Spectrum game developed by Paul Jenkinson, that is very much like thrust and you can download now? Welcome to ' Deep Core Raider '

Games I remember with a remake - THRUST

I'll say it right now, Thrust was an incredibly fun game for such a low budget title. It was published by Firebird Software Ltd and released in 1986 and for what it didn't have in graphics, it excelled in the fun factor. Thrust came on many different systems including the Atari 2600, Amstrad CPC, Atari 8-bit, Atari ST, BBC Micro, Commodore 16, Plus/4, Commodore 64, Electron, Vectrex, and ZX Spectrum. I myself spent many hours of enjoyment plus frustration on my Amstrad CPC playing this game. The simple task of pulling out Klystron Pods, out and into space ended up with either, your ship pulling the pod into the side of a cave, or you smashing your ship into another object. But it had far more to it than that!
