Gino the Muncher - A simple maze arcade game for the Commodore 64, loosely inspired by early '80s classics

Gino the Muncher: A Retro Maze Escape Debuts on Commodore 64! Massimo Bonucchi has released a fresh homebrew title for the Commodore 64 titled Gino the Muncher, a charming arcade throwback that pays homage to the maze-running icons of the early 1980s. Designed with a "less is more" philosophy, the game tasks players with guiding the titular Gino through a series of winding corridors. The objective is classic arcade fare: consume every dot in the maze while dodging a relentless squad of hunting ghosts.

Cold Blood - An action Pac-Man clone makes an appearance on the MSX

We've featured Pac-Man so many times now on the website, I'm starting to wonder if we should call ourselves Indie Pac Man News. Well that's unlikely to happen, but if you're looking to play another Pac-Man clone on your MSX, it might be worth checking out the latest game of 'Cold Blood' by Paxanga Software. A mix of an arcade dot chomping game with a bit of action, that can be seen in this latest gameplay footage provided below.

Puckman (Pac-Man) - The great arcade classic for the Atari ST under the name Puckman

Oh no another Pac-Man game I hear you cry, well hear me out! As this one wasn't only released for the Atari ST by frgailll, but it's a very impressive arcade port of Puckman, a game which is none other than the Japanese version of Pacman. To coincide with this news which is getting great feedback such as "Wow! This is VERY VERY VERY well done." and "MG! Finally, a proper Pac-Man port on the Atari ST! Ms Pacman - After the Arcade to Amiga conversion of Pac-Man, JOTD releases Ms Pacman! [UPDATE]

It wasn't long ago now that here on Indie Retro News, we did multiple features for JOTD's fabulous Arcade conversion of the 1980's hit classic's Pac-Man, a game which was released on the Amiga as Pacman 500. Well today's news came as a complete surprise to us and one I think you'll be pleased to hear, as thanks to another heads up by a good friend of ours, we have learnt that JOTD has released a fully complete version of Ms Pacman over to the Amiga 500; Yet another great Arcade conversion of the 1982 classic that's well worth a download. 

Pepper Buster - Pac-Man... A classic reinvented… with a spicy twist for the Amstrad CPC

Tetris isn't the only game that keeps appearing on IndieRetroNews, as according to both Saberman and Xenomorph, Crazy Piri has released the Pac-Man game with a twist for the Amstrad CPC, called 'Pepper Buster'. A game that doesn't just have all the dot chomping goodness you could want in a Pac-Man Arcade style game, but there's also explosive bonuses and penalties added in too! Pacman RX - Another Pacman game appears and this one is a conversion by happycodingzx for the ZX Spectrum

I said to myself I wasn't going to feature any more Pac-Man games, especially as we've featured it so many times now with systems being mentioned such as the Atari 2600, Commodore Amiga, Intellivision and even the one that appeared on the Pico-8! Well we've got another update for you if you love this classic Arcade game, as happycodingzx has announced the release of the Pac game of Pacman RX: a conversion of the Namco classic for the ZX Spectrum featured in this video by Saberman below.

Blockman Gets - A new Pac-Man inspiration arrives and this one is for the Amiga!

Well here we are with another Pac-Man style of game, as thanks to Saberman and Per Ola Eriksson contacting us via Facebook, we have been told Jayenkai has released a new clone of that classic called 'Blockman Gets - Amiga Edition' developed in BlitzBasic. To coincide with this news, not only has Saberman done a gameplay video, but Per Ola Eriksson has done one as well!

As thanks to Per Ola Eriksson, Hayesmaker and Saberman contacting us today, we have been told that Arlasoft has finally released the Arcade tribute of Pacman over to the C64! Ms Nampac - Another Ms Pacman clone appears but this time it's for the ZX Spectrum by Jordi and team

Guzzler +8DH - Pacman like maze with an ever fatter C64 rodent!

It's a Friday and for many the last day of a rather difficult week, so how about playing an old C64 game that has since been given its very first proper trainer to make it that much easier? Here is the Arcade game ' Guzzler +8DH ', first released in 1984 by Interceptor Software, developed by Jason Benham, title screen by Claire Challis, music by Robert Westgate and now with a brand new trainer by our good friends Hokuto Force!

Hideous Bill & the Gi-Gants - It's almost like Pacman for the C64 but with Ants!

Hokuto Force gave us the heads up last night to mention their latest trainered release of ' Hideous Bill & the Gi-Gants ' which was first published by Virgin Games, way back in 1983! In this Pacman style game, you must follow the instructions carefully before starting each mission to make sure you know how to rescue your lady friend Greta from being Ant food. Unlike Pacman this game is far more involved as each level differs, from squashing eggs, to using items to opening up mechanisms. Now once again this cool game has been re-released by Hokuto Force but with 4 Trainers, Dox, a HS Saver, the ingame reset protection was removed and as bonus they added a pic inspired to the sci-fi movies of the 50's in black and white

The Adventures of Bouncing Bob : Bustin' Ghosts - ZX Spectrum release featuring 255 levels!

A brand new ZX Spectrum release today and again by Bagnalld, is the sequel to ' The Adventures of Bouncing Bob ' as Bustin' Ghosts. In this game unlike the prequel, party goers have left Bob's garden a complete mess with cookies all over the place. But what's worse, the garden is now infested by evil Ghosts. So it's down to you to clear the massive 255 levels of which repeat in design and avoid the ghosts! But beware with each level the ghosts get smarter, more of them appear and there's more cookies to collect!

Pac-Mania - Classic Pac, now for the Amstrad PCW

Many years ago there was an arcade sequel to Pacman called Pac-Mania which was ported over to the Amstrad CPC from the ZX Spectrum. It was a decent effort as an Arcade port and featured many of the original gameplay elements such as being able to jump over ghosts, collect pellets and power up pellets in a 3D isometric like design. What let the game down on the Amstrad was the poor graphics, lack of speed and jerky scrolling, but at least the music was good! But today's news is from Habi, as he has now done an Amstrad PCW conversion with frame skip option for better speed but lack of smoothness. As such Pac-Mania is available to download and can be used on a real Amstrad PCW or emulator such as JOYCE.

Construct 2 Coin-op Jam - Create an arcade game in 6 days!

If the #adventurejam wasn't to your liking, especially if you prefer Platformers or Shoot em ups, then how about the Construct 2 Coin-op Jam (#construct2coinop), which ends in 6 days from this posting. If you remember Arcade games such as Donkey Kong or Pacman, then this is the jam for you! Using Construct 2, you must create a game that should hopefully hold the quality of an old school coin-op game such as those classics we fondly remember.

Pacapong - Pong, Pacman & Space Invaders all mashed up into one!

I said to myself today, "I seriously need a damn good entertaining indie game to play that would keep me occupied for more than just a few mins". Well the good news is, I've found it with 'Pacapong'. However Pacapong by kingpenguin is more than just an indie game, it's an indie game mashed up with some classic retro favourites while turning them completely on their heads. Imagine a Pong, Pacman and Space Invaders mash up and this is that game!

PJ Crossley is no stranger to the retro gaming era as his golden age of gaming goes right back to the days of the ZX81. He has played most of the 8-bit systems and has plenty of experience with dealing with old games and giving them the remake treatment for PC gaming. Although not new, they have recently been updated and uploaded to gamejolt. There are lots of games for you to play and remember such as Cookie, Pacman, Thrust and many others each listed for your enjoyment!
