It was only just yesterday we were the first site to announce that two brilliant looking games Organism and Legend of Atlantis, were not only 99% finished but had been shown off with some new screenshots and big box artwork. Well as of this moment, we've just learnt through Facebook that The Legend Of Atlantis is actually going to be called "Rocky Memphis" - The Legend Of Atlantis, with development by Stuart Collier & Trevor Storey plus the musical talents of Saul Cross.

We've certainly seen some damn fine looking C64 games through 2017 and into 2018, what with the glorious mention of Sam's Journey which saw a commercial release much to the excitement of the C64 community. But today's announcement is again going to be a special one, as according to Trevor Storey both Organism and Legend of Atlantis are in final testing at 99.9% complete! Organism, Legend of Atlantis and more! Teased with new C64 footage by Trevor Storey
Even though I should be taking a break today going by the fact it's my Birthday, I thought this was too good to miss as Trevor Storey has released a new video containing footage for three upcoming C64 games, Organism by Trevor Storey/Achim Volkers, Legend of Atlantis by Trevor Storey/Stuart Collier and Soulless 2 by Trevor Storey and Georg Rottensteiner. These three games have been featured before but not in such visual detail, as now you can get an impression of the music by the awesome Saul Cross, and enjoy a snippet of the rather cool gameplay!

Wormhole - A gorgeous C64 game is in development by TRS
I'm rather surprised this game hasn't got more attention, as not long ago we've learnt that Protovision will be publishing a rather awesome looking C64 game called ' Wormhole ', that is in development by TRS. This game which puts you in control of a saviour, that must rescue a professor and stop a wormhole experiment that has gone horribly wrong with an invasion of hostile aliens, will feature more than just your average side scrolling jump 'n shooter experience.
Legend of Atlantis - Could Indiana Jones be coming to a new C64 game?
There hasn't been a month gone by this year that T Storey, G Rottensteiner, A Volkers and S Collier haven't been mentioning C64 games that are currently in development, teased as possible projects or released into the wild. We've had the release of Barnsley Badger, My Life and The Sky is Falling. A Zelda project, a nearly complete Argus, an in development Soulless 2, and even an Aliens game 'Organism'. But you'd think it would stop there, but no, as the same team have recently announced 'Legend of Atlantis', a possible C64 game that looks to feature a famous character Indiana Jones!

Isle of the Dead - In development Text based adventure with the undead!
Way back in the early days of computing many of us had the joys of playing text based adventures, whereby you were flooded with words, shown the odd landscape image and had to work out what the hell you were supposed to type to continue the story. It was certainly a time David Taylor enjoyed, as only recently he sent us two exclusive images for his in-development text based adventure ' Isle of the Dead ', which as you guessed it features Zombies and thousands of rooms to explore!
The Abomination - Labour of love to old school horror platformers!
Not much going on in the homebrew scene so far today, so now we are going to look towards Eclipsing Binary's latest in development horror game ' The Abomination ', which is available for the PC and with a playable demo. A new Monty Mole game by Andy Johns is in development!
Only just recently many of us had the pleasure of playing Andy Johns brand new Monty Mole game 'Montys Honey Run'. It was one of Andy's very first games developed using AGD and put you in control of that classic character Monty but on a personal quest to recover some honey pots stolen by Bee's. It is a fantastic ZX Spectrum game to play and impressed us even more so that it was his very first game! In fact I enjoyed it so much, I just had to announce this very early development of another Monty Mole game that is again being created by Andy!
Spiritual Successor to Jetpac for the Sega Genesis announced
We were recently contacted by Federico Racedo of a brand new homebrew game that is coming to the Sega Genesis as a spiritual successor to Jetpac from the ZX Spectrum. Developed by a team of Uruguayans programmers, and using Basiegaxorz ( a Sega BASIC compiler ), you control a space warrior who must defeat waves of enemies while defending yourself from getting painfully hurt. And so far that is pretty much it, as there is not much else to say about the game at such an early stage other than a demo will be released soon.
Cat Quest - In development Atari 2600 homebrew looks to impress
With all the games that come and go through Indie Retro News, there's always one that amazes us. This is especially true of ' Cat Quest ' developed for the Atari 2600 by Alp, which started as an idea to port a cancelled NES game of his to the Atari 2600, just for fun. Currently at an early work in progress state, Cat Quest uses a ' Venetian Blinds ' Interlacing Technique that according to him, potentially minimizes sprite flickering and the overall graphical quality of the game.
