Dune II: The Building of A Remaster - Development of a new Amiga AGA and OCS version by Westwood's Robert Koon!

I'm sure many of you remember Dune II, one of the greatest RTS games of our time, an all time classic developed by one of the greatest developers Westwood, which was released for the Amiga, MS-DOS and a later release on the Sega Megadrive in 93. Well if you do remember it ( more specifically the Amiga version ), then at some point Robert Koon, who was part of the original Dune 2 team at Westwood, will be releasing a new Amiga AGA and OCS remaster. A new version of the game which is sure to excite many in the Amiga community.

Command & Conquer Remastered Collection will be released June 5th Steam/Origin

We've certainly had our fair share of Command and Conquer news on this site, especially featuring top quality standalones such as Twisted Insurrection and The Dawn of the Tiberium Age. But this latest news goes even further! As just moments ago we found out that EA with partnership with Petroglyh, is not only releasing remasters of both Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn and Command & Conquer Red Alert, with Covert Ops, Counterstrike, and Aftermath bundled into one remastered collection, but a new official trailer and further details has just been announced!

Eye of the Beholder 1 & 2 AGA Versions - An Amiga Forever install guide!

Way back in 2013 I gave you the full guide of how to get these two amazing FREE dungeon crawlers, Eye of the Beholder 1 and 2 AGA editions working through FS-UAE. I also provided two links to be able to download them and run straight off, but both of these were still a little fiddly and was liable to the odd crash. But now, fast forward to 2016 using Amiga Forever, I'll show you how to run and play two of the the most incredible Dungeon Crawler ever to appear on the Amiga and PC by Westwood Associates (Westwood Studios) with full automapping!

Twisted Insurrection 0.4.5 - Enjoyed Command and Conquer? You'll love this!

As the MOD of the year and Indie game of the year is still progressing on IndieDB, we came across an update to one of the most highly regarded Command and Conqueror conversions that we have ever played that we mentioned some years ago here on Indie Retro News. This is of course ' Twisted Insurrection '; a Standalone RTS total conversion update based on the Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun engine. The original release featured completely new units, structures (both new and old), new environments, a new story and now with the latest version 0.4.5 including some performance updates and numerous bug fixes to the client and the mod itself.

The Legend of Kyrandia - Westwood's incredible adventure now available for the Amiga CD32

Have I got a treat for you Amiga CD32 owners as Earok as released the next game in the CD32 line up and it's none other than Westwood's incredible adventure title 'Legend of Kyrandia'. Play as Brandon, who must defeat the evil jester Malcom after he murdered King William and his wife, Queen Katherine, then regain the Kyragem to save the kingdom.

The Dawn of the Tiberium Age - RTS v1.13 released!

We haven't featured a C&C mod for a very long time and that is about to change with the announcement of the release of "The Dawn of the Tiberium Age" v1.13; a standalone Tiberian Sun to Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert total conversion. Unlike The Second Tiberium War - C&C: Tiberian Sun Firestorm mod & Twisted Insurrection, The Dawn of Tiberium Age DTA's classic mode aims to mimic TD's gameplay as closely as possible, while the enhanced mode adds many new features to the TD factions. Also according to the developers it also adds balance improvements and also allows you to play as the RA factions. In other words, you're able to for example have matches between Nod and Soviet or mix it up however you like.

Dune II - An incredible RTS classic comes to Amiga CD32

The next game for the Earok Amiga CD32 conversion is the very famous Dune II, an amazing RTS classic from Westwood, one of the best companies of my generation. Dune II became the defining genre of complexity and innovation, a huge success and laid the foundation for Command & Conquer, and many other RTS games to come. Play as a commander of one of the three interplanetary houses, the Atreides, the Harkonnen or the Ordos, and gain ultimate control of the spice of the planet Arrakis. Build bases, harvest spice and command your units in one of the best RTS games ever released.

Compilation Dune Duology - Dune & Dune II, two amazing Amiga classics now PC Playable!

Game Type : Adventure, RTS
Games in Compilation : Dune, Dune II: The Battle For Arrakis
Launcher Developer :  The Company.pl
Game Info  : The Company.pl has once again released another set of Amiga classics and this time it's none other than Dune & Dune II. Whereas Dune by Cyro is a 1992 Adventure/Strategy video game, based upon Frank Herbert's science fiction novel - Dune II: is based upon David Lynch's 1984 movie Dune and is an RTS released in 92-93Although in both games you are tasked to mine the spice from the desert planet Arrakis, in the first game it is far more Adventure based in the fact you talk to people, hire allies and defeat the Harkonnen. The second game has far more dominance in our minds as it was one of the greatest RTS games ever released and developed by a very famous company, Westwood. Dune II established the format that would be followed for years to come and laid the foundation for many great games such as the Command & Conquer series. Your task in the second game unlike the first is to deliver the most spice for Emperor Frederick IV and pay off his debts, but be warned as you are up against the Atreides, Harkonnen, and Ordos (depending on who you play). Build bases, harvest the most spice, defeat the enemy and claim the planet as your own, a planet full of spice!  Now thanks to The Company.pl you can play these amazing Amiga classics on your PC.

An open-source recreation of the game was started up a few years ago, and that version has now been ported to Android. This version is authentic. It's a nice trip down memory lane, or maybe just a free introduction to a piece of PC gaming history, Powered by OpenDUNE, SDL, libSDL.
