Putty & Putty Squad - Two great Amiga platformers ready for you to play (PC Playable)

Game Type : Arcade, Platformer
Launcher Developer : The Company.Pl
Developer(s) : System 3, Amiga Community - Phil B-B, John Twiddy & Phil Thornton
Game Info Quote : Originally intended for release in the early 90s, Putty Squad features old-skool gameplay and frenetic action that showcases the creativity the Amiga platform was renowned for, in it’s unique and unaltered glory. While Putty Squad is available for current and next-generation consoles and is a re-imagining of a classic game, The Amiga version released on Christmas Eve, 2013 is the original code base, making Putty Squad for the Amiga the most authentic Putty experience available.
Release Update : Last month System 3 released a game that's been in hiding for 20 years, and that game was Putty Squad. The problem was, that you either had to use an Emulator to get the adf's working, real Amiga floppies or try through the whdload method and have it installed onto a real Amiga, emulated hard drive. Which does take a bit of faffing about and to some annoyance. Well now thanks to The Company.Pl you don't have to worry. As they have released this game and the prequel in a single useable exe file. Simply load it up and play!

Game Type : Dungeon Crawler, Multiplayer, Roguelike
Developer : Sheridan Kane Rathbun
Game Info Quote : Barony is a first-person multiplayer action RPG with many rogue-like elements, including (mostly) random dungeons, easy death, and discovery mechanics. That's a broad description of the game. A simpler and perhaps more evocative description is essentially, "Ultima Underworld, with multiplayer and lots of rogue-like stuff" because frankly, the game evokes Ultima Underworld's feeling quite a bit.

It gave a true speed feeling, whizzing past other cars on the road or through tunnels trying to come first place. What's more, it even had weather affects! Not to be left out though, the music was very very good, I can even hear the music going through my head right now, do do do do, ok I'll stop now. But seriously, download this right now, you wont be disappointed. Thanks to The Company.pl the Amiga version has been released/updated to version 2.6 so you can now play this on your PC with higher graphical filters

Recommended Youtubers for retro hardware goodness Lazy Game Reviews, Kooky Tech....

As you well know, this site is very much based on both the Indie and Retro side of gaming goodness, especially with my era going back to the 80's. Well just recently, I was checking through some of the best Youtubers, looking for some great hardware reviews of Retro systems. Well sure enough I found them, and although I don't usually plug other peoples views, this comes as an exception. I never had a C64, nor did I have a ZX Spectrum, but I did have an Amstrad cpc 464 and then onto an Amiga. There is something missing nowadays, as when I was a kid, there was complete excitement just going into a store and buying the latest magazine or seeing rows and rows of tapes at just £2.99. Or the large Amiga boxes full of colour, lots of floppies and spin wheels donating the games anti-protection. Such good times, such awesome games.... So if you are looking to buy a Retro computer system, either an 8bit or 16/32bit then enjoy the videos below!

Daylight - Zombie Studios teases another scary trailer for this First Person Horror!

Game Type : First Person Horror
Developer : Zombie Studios
Game Info Quote : Waking up in an abandoned hospital with only your cell phone for illumination, you explore the institution’s dark criminal past as you attempt to escape. In Daylight no two experiences are the same, and it is best played alone in the dark. Daylight introduces gamers to a procedurally generated world that replicates the horrifying nature of Daylight over and over again, but creates a different environment for each new game. Each time the player begins a new game, they experience a new world with new content and encounters; from the layout of the building and the things they seek to the events they encounter, it is never the same experience twice.
Teaser Info : You are in for a scary treat, as Zombie Studios have released the latest teaser trailer for this pretty damn scary looking First Person Horror Game, Daylight. As a Paranormal Investigator myself, I'm very much used to carrying devices in my hand walking through scary places, so it will be interesting to see if this game will actually scare me. So check out the trailer and look forward to an early 2014 release

Bluetooth ZX Spectrum - The rebirth of the Spectrum? Well sort of (Kickstarter)

Kickstarter Goal : £60,000
Developer : Elite Systems Ltd
Info  : The Sinclair ZX Spectrum was an 8-bit personal home computer released in the UK in the 1980's and is one of the all time greatest classic computers. Though depending on who you ask, it still causes a bit of a discussion even today, of which was the better system, the ZX, the Amstrad CPC 464, C64 or BBC. But enough about that, it's on with the news. Elite Systems Ltd have announced through a Kickstarter, the Bluetooth® ZX Spectrum which is basically a recreated Sinclair ZX Spectrum as a Bluetooth keyboard. What's more when used in conjunction with the simultaneously released and separately sold Bluetooth ZX Spectrum apps and games, it will run just like the original system.
