GODS Remastered - The Bitmap Brothers classic platformer overhauled gets a new trailer
Last year we announced that the Bitmap Brothers classic 'Gods'; a Platformer from 1991 that appeared on multiple platforms including my favourite computer the Amiga, was getting an all new HD remaster in which you could play in both original graphics mode or overhauled mode switchable anytime. Well fast forward to today and the developers have launched the final GODS Remastered Trailer, which is footage from the same version due to be released on the Xbox One.

Back in 2011 a game called Treasure Adventure Game was released for free that I downloaded and played, and I was blown away of how fun and amazingly designed this game was! It instantly became one of my all-time favorite games. Later I got a mail from the developer Stephen Orlando that he decided to do a remake in HD with new updated gorgeous graphics, new soundtrack, new added levels and challenges.
Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos NES Enhancement
Bit of a short news update, as it's very late but seeing as it is too good to miss, Romhacking recently announced the release of the Ninja Gaiden II: HD Graphics Pack, which is an enhancement for the NES version of Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos. This game was released way back in the early 90's as the second installment in the Ninja Gaiden trilogy. This release graphically enhances the game by porting the graphics from Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for use with the NES version of the game and its 8-bit audio.
Golden Wing - Best Amiga Game Award winner at Capacitor Party 2017 gets a final release!
From the 25th to the 26th of November last year, the third edition of the Capacitor party was held in Spain with new Amiga demo's, music and games. In fact during the event one such game was shown called Golden Wing by CopperSky was not only enjoyed by many but actually won the Best Game Award. So if you remember the game, you'll be pleased to know as of today it has been released as a FINAL version in both ADF and HD formats!
RetroN HD - Hyperkin's latest Retro Games Console will support stunning NES 720p output
It's not often we feature hardware apart from reviews as we are mainly a games site, but we've just received word through our email of a new retro games console that is coming from HyperKin and will support original NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) cartridges (PAL and NTSC) in beautiful, crisp up-scaled 720p resolution through pure hardware ( no emulation ). Known as the 'RetroN HD ', this high definition update of the original RetroN, is an upcoming retro games console through pre-order, that will also come complete with one premium and retro-style controller, a 3 ft. HD cable, and a 6 ft. USB charge cable.

We've just learnt through our news feed, that GODS Remastered, the HD remaster of the classic 1991 platformer that appeared on multiple platforms including my favourite computer, the Amiga, is now a Steam Greenlight success and will be coming to the PC third quarter 2017. In this famous game featuring the lyrics " Into the wonderful ", you control the legendary Hercules in his quest to achieve immortality, your task is to rid your city of demons by defeating them while also solving puzzles, picking up items, pulling levers and completing each set level.
Max Knight - A brand new 2D platformer appears on the Amiga!
At the end of last year towards Christmas time, Pixel Nation released the homebrew platformer of ' Max Knight Xmas ' as a festive teaser for the upcoming full Amiga game that was due to be released this year. Well you'll be pleased to know Pixel Nation has been true to their word and as of today the full version of ' Max Knight ' is available for all to download and play on an Amiga in both ADF or HD format.
The Dig - LucasArt's hit adventure game, gets a HD intro remake!
In 1995 LucasArts released the amazing adventure game ' The Dig ' for both the PC and Macintosh systems. It was an all time classic game, with some interesting, though occasionally frustrating puzzles, a full digital orchestral score, some pretty solid writing, and a full voice-acting cast, such as from Robert Patrick and Steven Blum. It was also full of sci-fi goodness, with an immersive alien landscape and using the SCUMM game engine, that even today is a highly prized collectors item. So if you haven't played the game you are seriously missing out! But before you do, make sure to check out the brand new THE DIG - Intro remake at 1080p/60fps from rickonami.
POSTAL Redux - HD overhaul of the original bloody shooter coming soon!
In 1997 Running With Scissors released the bloodiest isometric shooter of ' Postal ' for the PC. It was a game of maximum gore and carnage as you blasted and burned your way through citizens and armed NPCs affected by a madness plague. The game didn't gather the highest of scores and was very difficult, but thanks to a heads up by DSOGaming, this game is coming back as a HD Remaster with a higher level of detail and an all new Rampage Mode, which encourages an aggressive style of play by increasing a multiplier for each consecutive kill in a streak.
Toki Remake - Classic Arcade game overhauled is still in development
Way back in 1989 a designer by the name of Akira Sakuma released a fantastic Arcade shooter platformer game in which you controlled an enhanced Ape transformed from a Human that could shoot energy balls from his mouth defeating strange creatures and finally defeat an evil Wizard. It was a really good game that had a number of ports such as the NES, Sega Mega Drive, Atari Lynx, Atari ST, Amiga and Commodore 64. So you'll be pleased to know thanks to a heads up by RetroTaku, that the HD Remake by GolgothX1 is still in development and needs your financial help through a Patreon campaign.
GODS game classic gets an overhauled 1080p Intro remake
Would you like to see a HD intro remake of the classic Amiga game 'GODS', in glorious 1080p detail? Yes well good, because here it is! The original 1991 Bitmap Brothers intro in HD detail, using 2D digital art by FRULILI, music remix by DAXX - daxx step 2 dub and game play clips by AL82.
D/Generation HD - 1990's Arcade Adventure gets the HD treatment
Here's a game we haven't heard of for a very long time, D/Generation; an arcade adventure with puzzle elements in an isometric point of view released way back in 1991 for the Amiga, PC and Atari ST. It was set in a slightly cyberpunk futuristic setting of 2021 and had you playing as a jetpack courier that has to deliver an important package to Genoq’s leading researcher, Derrida, but ends up oblivious to the danger ahead. That very same game is now being overhauled from the original source with glorious HD graphics, and what's more it's also going through a Steam Greenlight campaign!
Hunter HD - Action/Adventure classic gets a remake!
Let's go back in time, right back to 1991 when Activsion released 'Hunter' for the Amiga and Atari ST. An action-adventure game that by today's view point would be classed as a Battlefield 4, Grand Theft Auto and Far Cry mix. Expansive, open worlds, a military theme, and the focus on small squads of soldiers or lone heroes. A high grade 3D game with sandbox-type game play, developed by Paul Holmes and music by Martin Walker. If you remember the title, you'll be very pleased to know that there is now a Hunter HD (Fan Remake) proof-of-concept that is in the works by Cherno, that is also playable in your browser right now.
Lunar Jetman Remake - ZX Spectrum original gets a fantastic PC overhaul!
Finally after all this time of waiting in excitement, James of Nebula Design has just contacted me to tell me the faithful PC remake of the hit ZX Spectrum classic "Lunar Jetman" is now available to play! First developed by Ultimate Play The Game in 1983 and the second in the Jetman series, this was one of the most highly regarded classics of it's time as you play as Jetman to locate and destroy (with the bomb) a series of alien bases on the surface of the moon. Now you can play the Windows version in all HD 1080p graphical glory, with smooth parallax scrolling and 1 or 2 players. A brilliant remake, for a brilliant classic!

Wojtek25, that guy from Diablo, has once again given us the prod to take a look at probably the best HD mod of Diablo you'll ever see. Titled "Diablo 1 HD MOD", codenamed Belzebub, overhauls many aspects of the Action RPG hit, that had gamers glued to the screen killing horrific beasts, collecting loot and levelling up as you take control of a hero battling to rid the world of Diablo. Superfrog HD - Team17's platforming classic for iOS, available tonight!
Anyone remember Superfrog? Well I do! It was a brilliant 2D platforming Amiga and PC(DOS) game that originally developed and published for the Amiga in 1993 by Team 17 and then later released for PC(DOS) systems and much later appearing on GOG.com. Well it's with great news that Superfrog HD, which is an enhanced edition of the original game with new graphics, will be appearing for iOS devices as from midnight tonight, so put on your cape, and lets go hopping!
Outcast Reboot HD - New screenshots and a video tease!
Fresh3D Inc have just teased the general public through Kickstarter three brand new prototype screenshots and a prototype video of Outcast Reboot HD. The hopefully successful remake of the hit action-adventure classic from 1999. This Kickstarter has currently raised $196,060 of a $600,000 goal and still 28 days to go, so come on guys keep pledging!
