Apidya' Special - An authentic, 24-bit pixel remake of a classic Shoot 'em up is finally here

This month alone we've seen some real bangers of hot news stories across a huge range of systems. Well, here's another one that is sure to be a big hit! As I've been informed that 'Apidya Special' by ININ Games, has finally been released for consoles and PC. A game that is described as, "an authentic, 24-bit pixel remake of an incredible 90's Shoot 'em up. No 3D models, no AI upscaling—just handcrafted pixels and passion with an exclusive Chris Hulsbeck original soundtrack". X-Out: Resurfaced - A 90's Shoot 'em up is getting a modern overhaul this Feb 20th! [Released]

Shoot em ups have never gone out of fashion, there's something to be said about blasting waves of enemies on screen, while collecting wicked power ups and listening to that thumping soundtrack. Thankfully one such team likes to keep the shoot em up goodness flowing, as thanks to a heads up in our Shoot Em Ups : RetroGaming Facebook group. We've been told that as of the 20th of this month, ININ will be releasing X-Out : Resurfaced through the Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam store. A 90's Amiga blaster faithfully rebuilt for modern platforms!

If you remember growing up playing 16bit platformers, either on the SNES or Sega Megadrive such as Mickey Mouse or even Ghouls 'n Ghosts, then have we got the game for you! This is 'Fox n Forests' developed by Bonus Level Entertainment, a gorgeous looking 16-bit inspired pixelated platformer, where you play as a Furry that can loot, upgrade, hack and slash and even change the very seasons of the game you're playing in! Maldita Castilla EX - Locomalito's Ghouls 'n Ghosts inspiration announced for Xbox One!

We don't usually feature console exclusives, but this news was just so good we just had to shout about it, as the bloody brilliant retro inspired Ghouls n' Ghosts game ' Maldita Castle ' is coming to the Xbox One as ' Maldita Castilla EX '. Published by Abylight Studios and developed by none other than Locomalito, the same designer behind the epic Shoot 'em up of Hydorah, and the ZX Spectrum look alike Platformer of l'Abbaye des Morts. Has announced the enhanced version of the original game, with brand new game stages, new final bosses and enemies, new illustrated bestiary's with unlockable information about the legends featured in the game, 15 new unlockable achievements and new songs for the original soundtrack and the remastered audio.
