Check out this awesome Turrican 128k remaster for the Amstrad CPC 6128!

Possibly the best retro gaming news for today, is the latest 128k remaster of 'Turrican' for the Amstrad CPC; a hit classic originally released in 1990 by Rainbow Arts and programmed by Manfred Trenz. For what I would class as the ultimate run jump and shoot action game, Turrican and its sequels such as Turrican II is a game series that is set in the heart of millions of Retro fans across the world. They had great shooting action, amazing game play and the most awesome of sound tracks by Chris Huelsbeck and Jochen Hippel(ST Version).

This year has just been fantastic for the Amstrad CPC with a ton of Amstrad homebrew games to spoil us, but even though we had the incredible Amiga to Amstrad port of Pinball Dreams, we haven't finished with the Amstrad yet. Now you may remember our big article on the very impressive looking homebrew remake of Street Fighter II titled 'Street Fighter II - CPC Edition' which is being developed by DaDMaN, and AugustoRuiz for the Amstrad CPC 6128 (128Kb RAM). Well at the end of last month a new video tease was released, showing us just how far the game has progressed and what it's like to actually play.

Red Sunset - A rather cool Amstrad 128K Shoot em up is released by ESP Soft

Listen up Amstrad owners have we got a special treat for you! As this week thanks to a heads up via our twitter page, we have found out that ESP Soft has released the full version of their classy shoot em up called ' Red Sunset '. This game which previously appeared as a Xmas Demo, is a high quality Amstrad game that was developed by ESP Software with music/fx by McKlain, graphics by Sad1942 and programming by Artaburu.

The Adventures Of Jane Jelly - A lovely ZX Spectrum platformer with AY music for 128k

I'm surprised this hasn't got more attention, considering we haven't seen many people talk about it, but 'The Adventures of Jane Jelly - The Treasure Of Zedin' for the ZX Spectrum, was released at the end of last month on the AGD forums featuring AY music for the 128k. Developed by Jaime Grilo and using Arcade Game Designer by Jonathan Cauldwell, this game features a rather busty treasure hunter called Jane, on a quest to explore the caves of the Spectrum to find the Treasure of Zedin.

Wizball - Classic 8-bit ZX Spectrum 128k Ocean game hacked by Adrian Singh

Funnily enough last night I was trawling through Ebay and happen to come across a really good priced Amstrad tape of the Ocean classic ' Wizball ', which was released in 1987 by Ocean and coded by Jon Hare and Chris Yates ( Sensible Software legends ). This rather famous game also appeared on the C64, ZX Spectrum, Amiga and Atari ST, with music by Peter Clarke, although the C64 version was composed by Martin Galway. So you can probably understand why I just had to mention the latest news in regards to the ZX Spectrum 128k version, as thanks to a heads up by Mark R Jones, it has been hacked by Adrian Singh with a 1987 C64 chr set, 2 hidden tunes and 2 sound fx by Peter Clarke.

Pinball Dreams (Preview) - Fantastic Amiga classic is now available as a preview on the Amstrad CPC!

After multiple articles and a big tease on the social media sites, the fantastic Amiga pinball game ' Pinball Dreams ' by Digital Illusions CE in 1992 has finally been made available as a preview download on the Amstrad CPC by none other than Batman Group, creators of the scene demo Batman Forever. Experience one of the best ever Amiga pinball games and now in glorious 8bit Amstrad graphics, as one person puts it "This is nothing short of amazing".

Adios a La Casta - A brand new beta homebrew for the Amstrad CPC!

Don't have a C64 or didn't get a ZX Spectrum for Christmas, but felt like the Amstrad was more to your liking. Then have we got just the game for you! Saboteur 2 - Classic action adventure ZX Spectrum 128k remake update!

Some time back (link) we mentioned Alex Riders in development remake of the hit classic game of ' Saboteur 2 ', which was developed by Clive Townsend and released by Durell Software in 1987 for the CPC, ZX Spectrum and C64, the same publishers behind the incredible dragon flying 'Thanatos'. But today the female protagonist who kicks major ass is back, as we have an update for you! The developer has recently released a new version for you to try out with bug fixes and further features.

Rabbit in Nightmareland - The ZX Spectrum bunny is back and this time it's frightening!

I was just about to settle down to a night of horror movies to really make Halloween that little bit more special and Javier Fopiani has just announced through our twitter feed of his next ZX Spectrum game in the Rabbit series, as ' Rabbit in Nightmareland '. Developed once again for the 128k in English and Spanish, this game unlike the previous isn't so cute and lovely, as going by the trailer, you'll probably jump back in fright!

Athanor 2 : The Legend of Birdmen - 128k adventure previewed on the CPC 6128

Literally moments ago we featured Safar Games, adventure title of Athanor for the C64 (link), now it's the Amstrad CPC's turn with the 128k sequel version for the Amstrad CPC 6128. That's right Adventure fans, the sequel is coming to the Amstrad with a brand new story, in much higher detail, with a uniquely designed game screen.

Vade Retro - Retroworks platforming homebrew for the ZX Spectrum

Mention to most retro gamers the name Retroworks and they will probably tell you of a company that releases great homebrew platformer games for any number of retro based systems such as the Amstrad CPC or the ZX Spectrum. Well today's sees another Retroworks release by the name of 'Vade Retro' and once again it's a platformer and available for the 48k and 128k ZX Spectrum.

BarbarianCPC & Deathsword 128k : Head chopping classics remade!

Barbarian or as it was called in the United States, Death Sword, was first released in 1989 for the C64 and later ported to other systems including the Acorn, Amiga, Amstrad, Atari, Apple II, BBC Micro, MS-DOS and ZX Spectrum. It was a fine game indeed that featured a one to two player mode as each Barbarian faced each other off in deadly combat. What set this game apart from other combative titles was the ability to slice at each other to the death, which usually ended up with a head being chopped clean off and kicked to one side. It is was a game that has lived on through a generation and although the Deathsword 128k remake isn't new, the latest Barbarian CPC for the megadrive is!

The Charm / The Chard - Brilliant ZX Spectrum game available for free

One of the things that makes us unique over other sites is the fact that we do both Indie games and Retro titles, and The Charm from RetroWorks is very much a retro title. Originally developed in 1991 by Acme and Mikomedes for the Spectrum it has since been given a new overhaul by RetroWorks, which takes advantage of the 128k models with upgraded graphics.
