The final results of the ZX Dev MIA-Remake compo and the winner is......

It's a time to rejoice ZX Spectrum gamers as we've just been told that the latest ZX Spectrum competition called ZX Dev MIA-Remakes is now over and the results have been announced. But with all that said there is one that gathered the top end of points and it just had to be...

Could the Laser Disc version of Dragon's Lair be coming to the C64 or is this really JUST FOR FUN?

Now I remember Dragon's Lair very well, from the Amstrad version with the jumping of platforms or trying to stay on the spinning disk without being blown off, or the interactive animated version which appeared as a laserdisc in which you needed to press a specific direction at the right time to survive. Both were simply brilliant games, but what has surprised me today is Antonio Savona has shown the possibility of Dragons Lair Laserdisc working on the C64 albeit in Black and White.

Panzer - Strategy game released by Sputnik World for the C64

Moving away from the platformers and shoot em ups, we now look towards Sputnik World for our C64 goodness. As unlike those genres, this one is a strategy game set in World War 2 called 'Panzer'. Lumberjack Platform - Tree chopping Amiga game is now a charming platformer!

Some time back we mentioned Megastyle & Protovision's C64 homebrew game of ' Lumberjack ', which put you in the mighty boots of a Lumberjack, chopping down trees as fast as he can, without being bashed by the big branches above. It was a highly addictive game on the C64 that was later ported over to the Amiga as a fantastic enhanced version thanks to Cobe and Lemming880. So why are we mentioning this awesome game again? Splat! - A ZX Spectrum game reviewed by Florinthedwarf.

Argh! A spider! Nah, it's our hero Zippy! (No, not that one.)
SPLAT! Now that I've got your attention, let's talk about this game. Maze games can be a little repetitive, left, right, right, right, left, left etc. pick something up, get stuck, turnaround, right, left - you get the picture. But what if I told you that this was a maze game with a difference? 'You lie!' you cry; but alas this time, I'm not. What if there was a maze game where the walls moved around as well as you. 'That would be crazy!' you would say. Well, welcome to Crazyland*.

Atari: A Visual History - A Visual History Compendium book about the Atari 8-bit!

While the crowdfunding platforms are being flooded with projects for retrocomputing greats such as the C64 or Spectrum, the scene has been a little light on products for the Humble Atari 8-bit. Seemingly unloved by people targeting the frothing hoards of retro fans of other 8bit systems which has been getting a treasure trove of memorabilia to drop your wad on. Well Darren Doyle wants to change all that, as he has launched a Kickstarter for the Atari: A Visual History - A Visual History Compendium; a book about the Atari 8-bit home computer and its third party software titles from the 1980's and beyond.

Rivalry - Bombastic experience of a C64 demo by multi scene gurus!

Yes indeed if you loved playing games such as International Karate, IK+, or even Street Fighter, then read on as I think you'll agree this game could almost be described as a blend of those games rolled into one.

Cyberwolf - Super smooth Amiga first person shooter preview

BioJet wasn't the only game to came back to this Monday afternoon, as Saberman was also kind enough to tell us about the latest preview release of Cyberwolf, which was shown off at the Revision 2019 demoscene event.  This Amiga game with development by britelite, bracket, dodke, spiikki, oasiz and chb/kalms, is a first person shooter that at its current stage of development, is very unomptimized and may bevave weird on anything else than a regular A500 without accelerator!

Tube Runner - Pico-8 gets a tube racer with a wicked soundtrack!

Here's a treat for the Pico-8 crowd. Tube runner is, as you may have guessed, a tube racer in multi-coloured vector square tubes. Tube Runner gives not just a great impression of speed but also a cracking sountrack to boot.

1942 - Browser based C64 shoot em up inspired classic

In 1984 a great shoot em up was released for the Arcade by Capcom and that game was 1942. ZX VGA Joy - New hardware for your Speccy!

Funnily enough when a user way back in 2013 asked if there was ever a port of the original to the C64 and a reply of no, just a sprite hack of Giania Sisters. It star'd none other than Miner Willy who is tasked by the housekeeper Maria with the cleaning up of items left around the house after a big party. So why are we mentioning that classic game? Well today's news is something special, as thanks to a heads up via our twitter page, we have come across a rather interesting online game(s) called 'Super Spectrum World' by Stephen Smith!
